Anyone wondering, Region Free means it will play anywhere in the world. Most Blu Ray Discs are region free. It is the EXACT same package and disc set as the US copy...just half the price. Shipping was 3.08 GBP which is $4.92.

It may take longer to get, but that is a great deal!

Can I buy this from Amazon.co.uk and get free shipping to America?
If so, can I use my regular amazon.com account?

On the American version of the website, this is $99.99

@kmurphy4000:
Nevermind. Answered my own questions.

Yes, they can ship to America (estimated 6 to 10 business days).
Yes, they used my normal amazon.com account.
And no, shipping isn't free, but 49.44 is the cost INCLUDING the shipping.

Hell of a deal.

Just a little tidbit:

So how is the first movie in the UK package named? In the US the movie was released as "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" while in most other countries it was "Philosopher's Stone".

Awesome deal. Plus, by ordering the UK version, that means you get The Philosopher's Stone instead of the Sorcerer's Stone, which makes this set slightly more authentic to the author's vision than the US set. Booyah.

Yup, bought this last year for about this price and it is great. Might even see the price dip lower over the next couple of months because this holiday season is supposed to see the release of some ultra-super-fancy-limited-extended edition collectors sets.

I bought the British version for my family for Christmas (really, for me and my husband since our daughter was then only one!). I bought the British Blu Ray version because A) it was way less expensive than the American version, even with shipping and B) it comes with the Maximum Movie Mode for the final three films - so, there are 11 DVDs in all. Some of the American sets come with that now, too - although be sure to look, if you're buying on Amazon. It's not clear just from the title. Still, the British version will be far less expensive. Happy shopping!

I purchased one, then my bank froze my card.

Stupid bank. I don't use them often, but when I buy three things in one day from Amazon, they like to alert the fraud line. I know it's nice to have if some thing were to happen, other times it's just a pain.

I purchased this last year for my fiance (now wife) as a Christmas gift when it was up for preorder. The first movie is Philosopher's Stone, and several scenes throughout the series are the originals rather than the Americanized versions, such as "bangers and mash" instead of the US "sausages and mash."

Works just fine on the Blu Ray players we've tried it on, and of course an excellent deal.

I just bought it. Total was only $45 with shipping!!! can't beat that.

Does this come with American subtitles, or do we have to learn English?

I got this last year too, and would definitely recommend it. It took a little more time to get here, but other than that it's great.
Basically to sum it up: If you want the Harry Potter set on Blu-Ray, buy this. It's better and a lot cheaper than buying the U.S. version. No brainer :)

free shipping in the UK, huh? lol I guess it's still not bad to ship out here to TX

Also, this is just the thing I was looking for- they came out with that rather expensive (and somewhat ridiculous) collectors edition or whatever it was, with the (super cool) case and the 30+ discs and all kinds of extras.... but I'm the kind of person who would be content with the 8 movie set if it was a much lower price!

and then lo, and behold!

Just wanted to point out that amazon.uk wouldn't let me use my Discover card (had to add my Mastercard to the account).

Dropped down to $45.25 when I ordered a moment ago. Great deal. I don't mind waiting two weeks or so, since I'm saving $51.65 over the equivalent set on Amazon.com!

Still at the low $45.25 price (shipped) as of this posting. Bangers and mash? I want Spam!

To those that have ordered this in the past: will I see a conversion charge come across on my credit card?
