Paragon Maintenance-Free Countertop Water Filtration System (For up to 25,000 Gallons & 10 Years) for $29.99 + $4.99 shipping
The tide is high, but you don’t want to drink from the tide without filtering it.
Okay, I seriously considered buying one of these awhile back from one of the other DAD sites (bensoutlet I think). I've been looking at long-term sink filters for awhile - know nothing about this though.
Anybody have input?
No longer fits today's faucets so I am out.
@bj022: Link to info?
1/2 gallon per minute flow is kinda slow. Decent under-the-sink filters will give you as good or better filtration with 2-3 times the flow. They require a little installation but nothing a basic "do-it-yourselfer" can't handle.

@jhaywire: "parasitic cysts"? Really? ;->
I have a similar system although mine, I think, says it needs a new filter yearly. (Or something like that -- I'd have to go back and read the directions) The thing is it does take up a certain amount of room and it is a little bit tippy. It is certainly better than the Pur that it replaced but it is not the permanent solution for me.
Nothing against the product but I've stopped buying from 1 sale a day. Always takes forever to get your product. Currently waiting on a comforter I bought a month ago, Really? a month to ship? Even contacted them, said it will be here in 1-20 days. Really? Thanks!
@jhaywire: Thought you were overstating it, until I did the math. 15 sec/pt, 8 sec to fill a /baking/ cup - most of my glasses will take 12 sec to fill. That's slow!
@leronis: they may or may not be in your water
@jhaywire: I certainly appreciate your post.
It seems what we're losing in speed, we make up in having no filter replacements. Assuming each filter replacement does last 6 months for your alternative option, you're looking at an additional $570 over ten years.
You choose, Wooters!
@joemarfice: First World problems. If you don't have 12 seconds to wait for a glass of filtered water, you may have some other more serious issues you need to investigate first.
@caisburning: I hate when people call "first world problems," as if to guilt someone for caring about something.
The point is not that "OMG I HAVE NO TIME FILL MY GLASS FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASTER!!!!" The point is that alternatives, which hardly cost any more at all, do a better job of filtering AND fill your glass faster.
How is that worthy of scorn?
ps you saying "first world problems" while using a computer to comment on a coupon site on the internet is hilarious. I hope you see it too.
