"Steve Austin, astronaut. A man barely alive. Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world's first bionic man. Steve Austin will be that man. Better than he was before. Better... stronger... faster."

This opening monologue introduced millions of viewers every week to the adventures of Steve Austin, the eponymous hero of THE SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN. Those words were nearly as iconic as the "na-na-na-na" sound effects used in the series. Even today, people who have never seen this 1970's era TV show immediately recognize both elements and associate them with the series.

For many years, this landmark series was unavailable in the United States on DVD due to licensing issues. Finally, in late 2011 the series began to arrive in stores as complete seasons.

The complete first season contains the original television movies and the thirteen episodes that comprise the show's first year on six DVD discs.

Kinda frightening that I recall the intro from memory.

I want this so bad. I'm just not sure if it stands up to the passage of time. I know Buck Rogers sure didn't. That show is so bad it's good. But not really. Mostly it's just super cheesy.

@zuiquan: The $6 Million Dollar Man is pure '70's camp, but $18 to relive all the hokiness is dirt cheap.
