FO1 is perhaps still my favoritest game of all time. I don't know if I still have a copy, so I'll be sure to get one from GoG tonight.

@shadowknight125: So all of the games on this site (http://www.supermariobrothers.org/) are illegal? Somebody call HomeLand Security!

I found this "wrapper" for getting it to work on an Intel Mac (see the second set of instructions on the page):

@sportyrider: Super Mario Bros. was released in 1985 and I'd challenge you to find a "free" version that isn't an illegal download or 3rd party emulator. I've been a gaming for a while now and I rarely see free (no strings attached) games even if they are old.

I'm no longer a gamer but their site reads "Release date September 30, 1997". It's almost 15 years old and they are finally releasing a free version? I don't get it!

This seems like a good deal... it's $0 and hopefully will run on a mac... we'll see...

@matt1976: You know, you could at least try running it through Wine. My reading indicates that even this release of Fallout works flawlessly in Wine. Sure, it's not native but it works.

Kinda expensive. I'll wait for the Free To Play thank you very much!

Here's a link to their forums that will hopefully help you install some patches that are highly recommended:

gog.com games also contains no Digital Rights Management / no "activation".

@mthiggins: I've been a supporter of that game for about a month now. I never played the first, but when I read the description, I had to support it.

I suspect that one of the reasons for the free Fallout is to gin up interest in the Wasteland 2 project. I am super stoked that they are making it!!! They have already had a ton of money pledged and they keep promising more and more content as the budget grows.

Check out the Journeyman Project series. They were probably my favorite games growing up. Very immersive!

sweet, there was a fallout 1 and 2? LOL.....

just got it....awesome. Just for signing up with Good old games I got like 6 other free games too, so that's cool.

I've been eyeing this on steam waiting for a sale to get it for $5, normally (and right now) it's $10! I've played it and it's really good. Can't beat FREE! Thanks OP!

Their website is just slow...it works, great find this is one of the best games you can find and you cant beat the price of free.

@the18thtee84: It took me quite a while to get it to work as well. Maybe their servers are getting a lot of traffic?

Free is always good, but the link doesn't seem to work all the time. First couple of tries didn't work, but it finally did just now.
