Xbox Magazine Subscription rarely goes on sale.. Definitely in!

That title is straight from the department of redundancy department.

Great deal on Xbox Mag. Anyone know if you can add to a current subscription?

vote-for2vote-against

It says you can 'renew...'

[quote from the website]
"The price on this magazine has been reduced for one week only and will expire this Saturday at 11:59pm. Want to renew your current subscription? Just use the same name and address you already have on your subscription, and place your order--we'll take care of the rest."

So to answer your question...ask Amazon heh...I'll send a message tomorrow and post the reply...

Nice, saved me $20 off this years PC Gamer sub!

vote-for2vote-against

Can't pass this up if you're a gamer and poop, you need a magazine!

vote-for2vote-against

I'm all in. That's cheaper than buying just one issue off the rack.

Saw this last night via Twitter. Definitely going in for OXM.

vote-for1vote-against

I may have to go with OXM too. Normally for that price, it's for the version without the DVD.

Renewed my PSM and Xbox subs and started my PC Gamer back up. Can't beat these prices!

Too bad it's only for the US... would have jumped all over this otherwise...

Subbed to Xbox and PC gamer mag. Can't go wrong with this deal.

If you click the down tab on the "1 year subscription" you can also add a "1 year automatic renewal"
Can someone explain to me if it actually means I can add this first year for $5, and then for another $5 get the next year too?

vote-for1vote-against

Awesome post. Got OXM, disc and all.

vote-for1vote-against

@razorc03: I may be incorrect but I am pretty sure that what this means is that you purchase the initial subscription at the price of $5 and when the year is up they will auto-renew your subscription for the next year at Amazons lowest price at the time of renewal.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/magazines-subscription-manager :

Auto-renewal: You won't miss an issue; we will renew your subscription at the lowest price available on Amazon.com.

I'm in for PSM and PC Gamer! Thanks for the heads up!

vote-for1vote-against

I am in for all 4 as well...the cost of a year sub is cheaper than one issue--and since my family games alot--this is well worth it.

I personally did not do the auto renew option--I figure in a few months--once my subs are actually getting to the house--I will be on the lookout ofr another 45 deal again to renew that way :)

Not knocking anyone that uses these mags but aren't there enough free gamer sites out there (with live boards/blogs where you can socialize with other like minded people) that it essentially makes these mags unneccessary? I used to get a gamer magazine about 15-20 years ago when I had a Super Nintendo (ahhhh those were the days lol). Anytime I want a cheat code or advice on a game I have or on getting a new game I just check it out on the web.

@jaredandsandy: I know that at least PC Gamer does give away in-game promotions for being a subscriber. Which is mainly the reason why I signed up for it.

vote-for1vote-against

I would have gotten the OPM, but it doesn't look like it comes with a disc, like the OXM and PC Gamer. I guess Blu-Rays cost too much.

@jaredandsandy:

I do use the internet to get the best game guides, cheats and news... but I still like being able to take the magazines with me to places to read when I don't have an internet connection. Like when I'm on break at work, or waiting for my next class or something.

Anybody subscribe to Nintendo Power? Is it worth getting?

(Same question about Official PlayStation Mag.) And does anybody know for sure if OPM does/doesn't come with a disc?

I'm almost positive it does (99%). You can even Google it, and it'll pop up with "Official US PSM Demo Disc 75" etc.

Either way...it's so worth it. At a few cents a mag you can give use 'em as Toiletries lol...they'll make a great addition to any guy's (or girls) toilet-reading-rack.

@drchops: Well I'm going by what it says in the title. The OXM already says it comes with one. If you click on the PC Gamer, then look at the title, it says "[Print + CD]". But if you click on the OPM all it says is "[Print]". So I'd assume that, that means that it does not come with the disc.

I know they have in the past, like for the original Playstation and PS2, but I'm not sure about the PS3.

@razorc03 and @pdxollie74: here's info to help answer that question -
http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=602292&#autorenewals

Also info here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200417220&#autorenew

What is automatic renewal?
An automatic renewal subscription is a subscription that Amazon will regularly renew on your behalf before your term expires. With automatic renewal you will:

Never miss an issue of your favorite magazine.
Avoid multiple renewal notices and telemarketing calls from publishers.
Always receive the lowest price available on Amazon for your subscription term.
Receive automatic notification that your subscription is about to be renewed.
At any time, you can change your address or your credit card, or cancel automatic renewal in Magazine Subscription Manager.

I wish I could find a deal on Edge magazine at some point. Much better quality.
