The ASR Tactical Darby Escape Toggle Tool is designed to aid in escape from Darby-style handcuffs. Darby cuffs were first manufactured in the mid 1800s, and are still widely used by certain third-world country groups. This tool was developed for the British MOD Survival School in order ensure they could escape from Darby cuffs.
Darby cuffs were designed prior to mass production techniques and standardization, which means that the spring tension and bolt diameter can vary even from the left cuff to the right cuff. This tool is specifically meant to work even with these unpredictable variances. It's compact and discrete, and utilizes a special 375lb coated Kevlar cord for added durability.
