Threw this in the player last week and had myself a little Trilogy Marathon. Forgot that Hayden Christensen is the ghost of Anakin Skywalker at the end, and it left me with a bad taste in my mouth

@ caffeine_dude: This is best answered in the cartoon Lego Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Out. As seen here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_sd6zoZnns

@jdmac44: The problem is there's multiple theatrical versions now. =X

Thanks GOD Star Wars was rescued from the tainted hands of Lucas. Hopefully Disney turns this around.

Buy the old CBS-Fox VHS & digitize it. ;-)

Can someone direct me to a site that explains this debate over the recent versions verses what I saw in the theater in the summer of 1977?

Or summarize the debate?

@jrhusc: Lucas re-released the original trilogy a little over a decade ago. He remastered and upgraded the picture on the aging films, which was great. But he also forced in a bunch of extra footage and changes on the films, none of which was great. Some examples of this are a deleted scene where Han encounters Jabba on Tattooine in episode 4, with a terrible looking CGI Jabba (you just can't mix low end CGI with real footage and models/miniatures... it looks horrendous). Another overwhelmingly painful moment is at the end of Return of the Jedi, where Harden Christiansen (the actor playing Anakin in the prequels) replaces the original actor... utter disrespect. Other examples are well documented by Star Wars fans on the Internet. A simple Google search is your friend here.

@tradwolley: I DVR'ed that and found it hit and misses big time but that was a big hit.
