Thanks, ordered one for my stereo system. Like the optical out for the audio. Allows me to run it through the digital lens and then the sound processor. Hopefully it's what it says it is...

Everything looks good with the exception of the lack of information on the power supply and gpu if it has one.

This A-10 is pretty far down at 4668 CPU marks, but not all that shabby for the price. The one thing I found on this list is that there is great difference between different models of the same line.

I recently bought a laptop with an AMD processor which scored pretty high on this list. I also used this reference when I bought new desktops last Christmas. It came in handy for comparing to the Core 2 Extreme I was replacing.

I see it has INTEGRATED video and sound. I wouldn't expect it to have anything more at this price and with this power supply. Questions:

1. Would it be difficult for a non-tech type to replace the power supply? Recommendations for replacement?

2. Recommendations for decent, but inexpensive video/sound alternatives for this machine, with or without the PS upgrade.

3. How good do you think the integrated video/sound might be? I haven't had a PC with that for a long time. I'm planning on using the computer mostly for internet, email, the occasional game.

I couldn't find anything about the graphics card. I went to HP and for the A10 it lists the Radeon HD 7660D. For the RAM and hard drive it's perfect for my 9 year old who plays flight sim & online/downloadable multi-player games. I just purchased myself an HP laptop with A6 processor ,4GB RAM and 500GB hard drive and I'm disappointed. First thing I did was dump the bloatware. I don't know if Windows 8 is the culprit but 50% of RAM is used if more than one app is open. Even YouTube videos buffer several times. For this excellent desktop deal, the memory is sufficient but wanted to make sure the A10 and graphics card will be strong.

1. PSU replacement - not hard, but the new cable routing may be an issue

2. Sound - unless you're running a recording studio, the integrated sound is fine
Video - Wait until you run into specific issues with a particular game, then shop for a new vid card. For general surfing, the integrated graphics are fine.

Don't get a new vid card without a new PSU (400-450W), and you don't need a new PSU unless you get a new vid card.

For $400, this isn't bad. The 2TB hard drive and the Windows license (if bought retail) takes up half of that.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I think I will go ahead and order this PC. Sadly, knowing onesaleaday's speedy shipping, I likely will not see it before Christmas, but you have confirmed it is a good deal and worth waiting for.

caisburning: This is the typical full size desktop case for HP so I'm certain there is room for an additional optical drive. I would add not swap in case you ever want to copy a CD or DVD.

If you search online for the A10-5700 with integrated audio and graphics you will find most excellent comments, improvements over previous AMD processors. I've ordered one to replace the laptop I use for my main home PC and seriously considering a second for a media center since it has the built in WiFi, too.

I don't see too many deals for desktops beating this one. You do have to get rid of the packaged hogware on the HP's nowadays. Sorta like installing an HP printer, more background garbage to dump. Once clean and lean this will do most any home need without any issues.
