In for one... We'll see if it works or is just a way to grab our contact info...

What the heck? I gave it a try!

I'm in too - I have a slow leak in one of my tires and I've been meaning to get a air pressure thingy for a while.

vote-for2vote-against

@durkzilla: hopefully it doesn't go flat before it arrives ;)

vote-for3vote-against

Be advised that you are also signing up to win a set of four tires as well....who doesn't want $400 worth of tires or the cash....

But really, just what is a tire pressure check kit? It doesn't say "pressure gauge" or anything like that. The picture shows someone airing up his tires using a small compressor, but I'm pretty sure they're not shipping compressors.

It'd be funny if it were just a card that reminds you to check your tire pressure...

@manoshevitz: i was thinking the same thing..lol

vote-for2vote-against

@manoshevitz: +2 thinking same ~ couldn't find anywhere on the site what they were giving away ... BUT for free, what the heck, why not ~ these are the tires that came stock on my SUV, so winning a free set would be a major bonus!! now if only we could get a free set of motorcycle tires from them too :P

In for one myself!! Free is good!! just remember to give them a junk email account ~ you dont have to enter a ph. # ~ just put in "n/a", but obviously they are gonna need a physical address 2 send your free stuff to.

I once got a couple of Hankook tires from the Tire Rack for my friend's Maxima. Seemed to be pretty good tires, inexpensive and didn't need high speed broadband to make them work. They were Mac compatable too!

I went to the Hankook web site tire finder and it wanted me to confirm something that is in Korean. LOL I think the site needs a little work!
Unfornately they aren't cheap anymore though.

Check out terms and conditions here:http://www.hankooktireusa.com/AirEmUp/Event/terms.htm

Looks as if you will most definitly receive a free gauge:

Terms and conditions of the program are as follows:

1. To claim their Air Pressure Check Kit consumers must register for the program via the "Be Safe... Air ´Em UP" button on the Hankook website home page at www.hankooktireusa.com and/or directing their Internet browser to http://www.hankooktireusa.com/AirEmUp/Event/

@durkzilla: hahah, same thing. I keep meaning to stop by the store.

vote-for2vote-against

Also make sure you click 'no' next to where they ask if you want to receive promotional information from them. That is right under where you enter your personal information. Unless you want their stuff, then you can just skip to the end.

It looks like they are raffling off 5 sets of tires Jan. 5, Feb. 4 and March 4. So 15 in all.

Handy I suppose if your existing tire pressure gauge broke or you want a spare, but otherwise, it's a pretty one-sided exchange of personally identifying information for a cheap knick-knack (if indeed that's what you get).

Hey where's the Obama bashing on this one? After the hilarious Obama wallet last week, we should be rolling on the floor over the obvious connection between this and Obama's earlier statement about how we should keep our tires inflated! Hankook must be getting a government kick-back, which means all good red-blooded Americans will retaliate against this government infiltration by running their tires below recommended pressure! That will show 'em for sure!

vote-for3vote-against

@lparsons42: Yes, yes, they want us to contribute to the massive 'inflation' problem - don't buy it!

vote-for1vote-against

@lparsons42: Darn, and I thought I was the only one who thought of that when I first read about this deal.

vote-for1vote-against

@lparsons42: I'm still waiting for the internet service Obama promised us during the election.

vote-for1vote-against

@stevec5000: So you live in the middle of nowhere - or at least somewhere remote enough to not have previously had internet access - and you are waiting to pay for it?
Because if you paid attention, you would know that is what was promised.

Bottom of the barrel air gauges can be made/sold very cheaply. Like a buck or less.

If they are made that cheap, don't expect them to be accurate.

vote-for1vote-against

They probably send you an inaccurate tire guage so it will wear your tires and you will have to buy new ones.

Realistically, I have had several sets of Hankook tires on my pickups and they were the best for getting around in the snow. Seemed to wear a little faster than name brands, but also were quite a bit cheaper.

Come on people! What do you expect for a tire company that's named after a Will Smith movie?!?!?!?!?!?????

@superninja: Anything that's +/- 2 lbs is better than nothing.

Signed up as well. Free is good.
