That's awesome! Great post. I'm in Los Angeles, so I'm unable to enjoy this. I'm surprised the hateful couch trolls haven't started in with the "Mets suck" jokes yet. The Mets may suck, but going to a ballgame opening weekend to such a beautiful, brand spanking new stadium on the free? Awesome !!!
Works. Would be worthwhile if you could get two seats next to each other. Definitely in the nose bleed sections, but to see Atlanta it would be cool.
@boredmaster: It's not a brand new stadium anymore.. Still, I hated Shea, worst stadium ever in the history of baseball. So it would be nice to see it's replacement, at least once.
@mschauber: You can clink "Bring a friend" to get seats next to eachother... Prices are then 1/2 off, so BOGO free.
@falcondeal: I JUST realized that.. Thanks. Now trying to decipher the color codes for the different sections. Not a good way to display seating for the colorblind population, like myself, lol..
@mschauber: I have the same problem! (color blindness) If you select a section then click next, if will highlight just that section (when they have tickets selected for you). Then just hit back if you want different seats.
This is worth it just to get into the stadium. Citi field is awesome, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The food & beer is great. There are a plethora of options.I suggest going and getting a burger over at the shake shack and you won't be disappointed.
Also the craft beer selections are top notch.
Oh, you can watch some baseball team play there as well, as matter of fact, they are currently tied for first place!
One game in and it's already come to this?
God help the Mets!
Had to post this.
Free tickets? Not bad! Although I hear in Kansas THEY actually pay YOU to go to see the Royals...
Not that much of a Mets fan (Go Phils!) but for free when I don't have anything else planned? Decent beer, good food and a baseball game? I'm in!
As a lifelong Met's fan this would be a great deal if I still lived in NY. With that said, I just purchased 4 tickets to a Mets-Orioles game in Citi field in June for $50.45 delivered through stub hub. Rooting for a sucky team can have its advantages.
Get on this deal now, before Theo turns the franchise around like he did here!!! 1 world series championship... who am I kidding, a series worthy roster and Mets tickets will start costing money... pretty soon you'll be shelling out $50-650 per seat like we do in Fenway! (well, maybe not this year with Bobby V., and no Papelbon...and only 3 decent starting pitchers...and no decent catchers....)
@rroberto: You read my mind! (Except, I thought Theo went to the Cubs?)
