Winston Churchill's WWII European War Histories each for $1.99
Kindle Daily Deal for 9/8/12:
From the description:
"Today only, the six books in Winston Churchill’s monumental account detailing the European Allied Powers fight against Germany and the Axis are $1.99 each, up to 77% off yesterday's price. Churchill won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1953 in part because of this awe-inspiring work."
Although these were written very shortly after the conclusion of the war, and thus do not have the benefits of either time and distance from the events, information from the German archives (or Soviet for that matter), and does suffer from some bias by the writer (Winnie wasn't going to make himself look bad) Nontheless, these are considered landmarks in the study of WWII in Europe by one of the leaders.
The library of a student of 20th century history would be incomplete without this series. Regular price was $8.99 each. And, for the record, yes, I'm going to be snagging all these.
Thanks for posting this deal.. I was set to get all six of the volumes until I read in the reviews that the kindle versions are full of scanming errors, so I am going to pass.
