I see....Luke said he wanted to go into Tosche Station to pick up some power converts, but he was really upset that he missed poker night!
Were these 14g chips, I'd be tempted. But 10.2g plastic chips aren't going to cut it.
Cool for Star Wars geek fans, but not so awesome for serious poker players.
What the gentleman above me said is correct. For those who haven't had the chance to play with different chips ... I'll compare it to cheap paper plates vs. the expensive sturdy brand.
These chips are WAY too light to use for practical purposes, Unfortunately.
If they were 11.5's I'd seriously consider them.
If these were individual 5-lb bricks - i would consider them. I'm not sure whats up with all these girly-men who speak in "grams"
Saw this set at the Star Tours ride in Disney World. I think it was a good bit more expensive there.
goatcrap- don't question the manliness of a guy who knows his poker chips.
I'm just going to say it: if you're contemplating buying this, you probably don't have 3 friends to actually play poker with.
mmm... 200 chips does not a usable chipset make. The value is weak with this one.
While I do agree with the people who are talking about heavy chips, you can't expect that these would have been manufactured this way. The heavier chips (the good ones, anyway) have clay in them. These chips are made to resemble a lightsaber whilst in the packaging (or, I suppose, if you have an immense chip stack in front of you). Therefore, transparent plastic was clearly the right choice. These are not a poker chip set for "hardcore" poker players - this is a chip set for your weekly gaming night of D&D/board game/Magic the Gathering friends to play poker with.
For me, I play with Kem cards and real clay chips. But I bought both because I want them to last a long time and go through repeated usage. This set, however, would be excellent for my brother who might use it twice a year and would get a kick out of the fact that Yoda was on them.
I guess what I'm saying is - the target market for these is not hardcore poker players. But any gaming geek would love these.
@tygress: Nice name!
@tygerdave: Thanks. Same to you! :-)
