My wife and I both have SanDisk players. Actually, I have a couple. The older one is still my backup for use while running. My newer one is a refurb. They all work great. 2gb isn't a lot of storage, but if that's enough for you, this seems like a good price.
I have the original 2GB Sansa Clip and this is like the same thing except it has a better screen and a microSD expansion slot. I agree 2GB isn't a ton of storage, don't expect to dump your entire song collection into this thing unless you are using a pretty big microSD card. But 2GB is more than enough for gym or having music on the go.
Battery life is decent, I always charge mine up after I use it so I've never actually drained my completely.
Screen is pretty simple just lines of text and graphical equalizer if the song is on your favorites.
One of my favorite things about the clip is that it is very small and it has a little clip on the back on it so it can be attached to any article of clothing. It's not super secure but if you attach to like the top of your shirt or shorts it will stay there even when you're doing strenuous activities.
It's pretty inexpensive so if you lose one you won't be crying about it.
Stock earbuds are horrible but that's expected with all media devices.
We got the 4GB versions for 19.95 each on a woot deal.
@crvanslyke: yeah but you can just add an SDHC card to add storage. I recommend that you only get a 2GB one and spring for a larger SD card. The player is going to eventually break after some abuse and you can simply buy another 2GB (at a minimal cost) and just plug in the old SD card and you've got all you music back. Assuming you store all your music on the card.
I've had an 4GB and several 2GB's and this has been my experience.
@budrose: But it's not available now, is it?
