$20 off just might get you free shipping on overpriced items

ThinkGeek is a great site. But in all fairness, fy360n is quite right. I have bought a lot of stuff from ThinkGeek. Many of the things I have bought and now shop for, i can find at Amazon and other websites for 10-20% cheaper, and usually with constant free shipping.

What annoys me about ThinkGeek is that they play games with their promotions. They offer free shipping for orders over $75. Then they have a special such as today. However, this cancels the free shipping deal. So in all honesty they just occasionally have free shipping deals. I have spoken with ThinkGeek directly to confirm this.

Again, it is a very good website for anything, 'geek, 'nerd', and 'syfy', which is AWESOME!!! But do you homework, look any good nerd or geek, and shop around.

Retail 101.

@cheeze8888: Just went through that yesterday. A lot of their stuff isn't exclusive to them at all.

My cousin was about to buy a silly coin from them yesterday and I just said in passing to check the other main websites before buying. Within 2 seconds he found it and ended up saving himself over 30%.

With somethings they don't even try to be competitive.

I noticed all of that too. But it's a great source to actually find some cool things you never even heard of...and then search it on amazon or on the internet in general. Too bad the 20% cancels the free shipping...that's kind of a rip off - retail 101 or not.

Agree'd Think Geek had such potential too. I'll often browse there and buy elsewhere.
