$300 for a refurb on Amazon. Solid reviews.

This seems like a great deal.

Just bought this the last time it was on home.woot. Very happy with my purchase.

Works fantastic on carpet and on hardwood. Does a great job picking up dog hair from carpet.

I bought it too last time and it is awesome! Can't believe how much dirt and hair it picks up.

I've never purchased a refurbished vacuum before. Do they come busted up looking and dirty? Are they obvious that they are used or do they look nice?

vote-for3vote-against

some people says this vacuum sucks (in the good way) and others says it sucks (in the bad way). So what is it? Any weakness? No power? turbinehead steals air power from the vacuume? Gets stuck in shags?

As for refurb, it is mostly good. I had a refurb hoover that had the hose holder arm with a light colored band across, which means it got bent beyond its flex point and an attachment that was different in color.

I'm just disappointed that woot doesn't actually respond to their volcano email.

@jjilk: They actually look brand new. I bought mine recently and I couldn't even find a scratch.

I can't believe I just bought another Dyson from Woot.. this HAS to be my last.
I absolutely love the ones I have, they work fantastic! I already have the All Floors and the Rechargeable Handheld (which will be next year's Christmas gifts if I see it again!).
My Roomba is getting lonely...

@jjilk I agree the Dyson referbs look (and function like) brand new. They send a note saying "sorry the canister is a little cloudy, since it's a referb..." but seriously, both looked new and spotless to me.

@lwang: I wouldn't use it as my main vac. I would wait for an upright to come along. Great for a second floor and step vac. I have a Cape Cod and just got mine because I hate dragging my upright upstairs just to use and bring back down. Just got mine from last time on Home Woot. Looked brand new.

@jjilk: Use it the first time and you will never know the difference.

I bought one one the last Woot and it came in perfect working condition. I wanted something easier to move around for dusting, stairs, and autos. This does such a great job my super-duty upright may stay in-closet!

I was thinking of buying this as a back-up to a Roomba. Anyone out there with this combo, and if so, how does it work. At any rate, it has to be better than the $45 Hoover upright that the SO bought at Wal-Mart. I sometimes think that if I used a straw and a sandwich bag, I'd clean the rugs better than that dog.

Consumer Reports has this vac near the very bottom of their ratings. 8 out of 10.

I got this from Woot a few months back and love it. The only issue is with high-pile rugs it kinda sticks, so we end up having to go diagonally. (or just pull - no push). Otherwise great suction and cleans great, even stands on stairs.

and with valentine's day approaching? won't my wife be surprised!

@ddraj: Not as surprised at the medical staff will be when you show up at the ER with a vaccum hose hanging out of your behind. When you recover let us know how it all went down or should I say went up!

@nanaejt: Admitting Diagnosis: Gave wife vacuum for valentines day gift.

I finally caved in after literally years of deliberation on buying a refurb dyson offered on woot. I think I got the right model for me - hopefully the turbinehead isn't too annoying on my carpet.

Now - anyone have thoughts on adding the Squaretrade warranty - do I need it? I've seen people posting saying their refurb has lasted over four years, and not very many complaints saying their vacuum fried (as far as I've read thus far).

(I can probably look this up but, for the sake of discussion, how long after the purchase can I still buy the warranty?) THANKS!

Just received mine today. This vacuum looks brand new and is awesome. Anyone complaining about Dyson must be really, really stuck up. They live in a different world than I do because this suits my every need. Fantastic deal on a vacuum that never needs bags, filters, or belts!
