Official Olympic Curling Stone used in 2002 Olympic Games for $795
Own a piece of the sport that's sweeping (get it?) the world! An actual curling stone from the 2002 Olympic Games.
This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of history. This stone was used in the 2002 Winter Olympic Games in Salt Lake City. Serial numbers are engraved on the stone, the only thing missing is the sticker on the handle (removed by committee prior to us getting it). Only six available in the whole world.

@hobbit: Really? Underrated? So why do we only hear about curling once every 4 years then? Because it's not really a sport, nor something to be proud of to participate in.

@rdldr1: Not sure where you live, but when I lived in WA STate we heard about it all the time. When I went to college just south of the Canadian border they even had a Curling club at my university that competed with the University of British Columbia and other schools up there, but that was pre 2001. I am not saying I participated, I was typically busy watching Rugby and Soccer matches on both sides of the border.
What proof is there that these were actually used at the Olympics? They don't remove Olympic logos from hats, shirts, jackets, etc after the Olympics are over. :-)
I'm selling stones (that might have been) used by cavemen to kill lizards. This is a unique opportunity to own a piece of actual history. All lizard blood and flesh has been removed from the stones by millenia of rain. ;)

A quick search on the tubes will show there is only one supplier of Olympic curling stones in the world. Man, everyone has to be negative.
Curling is not a sport period! There is no skill involved other than maybe for the sweepers. Whom are not even really involved in the "sport", which means it is not a sport.
Its not a sport if you can get a hummer while doing it.
This is an awesome deal. Who care's if you personally don't like the sport? A great deal of people do and it would be pretty cool to own a part of the olympics.

I know it was 8 years ago, but this stone looks nothing like the ones they are using this year. I happen to be watching the women playing right now
Y'all need to lighten up a little bit! Curling is as much a skill/sport as bowling, shuffleboard, even pool to some extent. It takes a good eye and hand to bank shots, aim and hit a target, and especially to get those stones to stop where you want them to. It was pretty exciting watching the women's match between USA/GBR, and if I knew more about the rules and strategy, there was probably even more to enjoy.
Price does seem very high though.
I would buy this right now if it came with the womens curling team from Russia--so fly!

Wow, pretty expensive paper weight/conversation piece. I guess, if these get bought up, it'll probably be by professional curlers, because nobody else would care enough to shell out that much money for one.

Hey this guy doesn't go out and call you a loser when you are talking about World of Warcraft. Curling has quite a following and it's growing. I have never played but there is even a club here in Texas.
I am sure when video games make the olympics someone will be selling a mouse that was used in the actual games and THEN you would be all over it.
Man that would be a heck of an industrial strength paper weight -- it might do the job here in Okla. where Tornadoes roam -- but alas --- it's too steep for me -- if I bought it it would end up on the shelf next to the curling iron I used to use when I had hair -- aw heck fire -- put me in for a gross --they'll make great Christmas gifts for my wind blown Okie friends
The Wii's "Winter Olympic games" has curling so there's hope for the sport yet; but, without the official Olympic sticker it's "worthless" or at least worth about 1/3 of the price as advertised. And, advertising to millions via w00t but he only has six? Hmmm...
If it's an Ailsite stone (the best). Which I'm sure it is because it was used in the Olympics. Then anybody who curls should buy this and USE it.

@kmf600: the handles are metal to know when the person throwing has let go. some kind of sensor inside to make sure they don't touch it after that first line.

@wegogiant: hello wegogiant - I'm not a moron and I am selling these stones. Originally we had 8, down to 6 when I listed them online and now we're down to 4. The handles are slightly different than the ones they use now due to the sensors in the handle which hadn't been invented yet in 2002. It's a cool item if you like curling and the Olympics, if you don't like either then there's no need to shop or comment on them.
