AVG Antivirus & Antispyware 2011 - 1 User for $0 + free shipping
$25, free after a mail in rebate ... I'm not big on MIRs, but if you don't mind it's a great deal.

$19.49 @ Amazon!

Isn't this normally free? Or does the anti-spyware bring up the cost?

@rlapid2112: It's the addition of the spyware that costs. $20 plus shipping on Amazon, or $25 up-front on newegg, then the MIR.

AVG has a free version that one can download. It includes anti-spyware. The boxed CD version is not free. It is the upgraded product with some extras. There is also a 3rd tier version that is more expensive.

eset nod32 is better imho...
Agreed. Nod32 is way better.
Been using avast! Antivirus since it's also free. Seems to update more often then AVG & since I've had it installed since January of this year I haven't had any "Pop-up" type of Ads like I've had when using the Free version of AVG in the past. I'll have to take a look into Nod32 as well.
Watch out for Avast- we've had several infections sneek by them on our work computers. Just changed over to TrendMicro much better so far.
I used to highly recommend AVG & AVG Free to my clients. However once they started being SUPER aggressive with the sales pitches I swore them off. I'd say about 40% of my clients were duped into buying the next version during one of the many 'upgrades' of the free versions.
I just use Microsoft Security Essentials. Its easy, free and works great.
Microsoft Security Essentials - heh!
MSE all the way. Made by Microsoft for Microsoft! Lightweight, effective and 100& free for Windows users.
Use MSE on personal computer and brothers. eSet on work
