I luckily got the free after MIR, but it was risky since I had to do that while at work...

Do people still play controller-designed games on their computer, with a usually smaller monitor? :P

(As this sale is only for the computer, not a gaming console)

@cheeze8888: Technically, the monitor can be "larger" than a TV since you usually sit much closer to the computer than the TV (at least I do), or at least appear the same size. I've found that I prefer PC games to console, though some games do work better with controllers. I would say that RPGs work much better on PC thanks to hot keys.

HDMI out of the computer to your TV, use a 360 controller. Best of both worlds. This is the only way I game.

@cheeze8888: I got the Mass Effect 3 PC from Newegg, that I will playing on my small 60" Sony TV, interacting with the game's interface modified for the mouse and keyboard.

@blindandcynical: U dont understand resolution do you...

@blindandcynical: what about FPS games? It seems that pc monitors do a much better job than even the nicest TVs at keeping up with a mouse and very high frame rates.

I meant ZERO disrespect to any gamers (hence the :P ), simply knew how sensitive an issue this is for some people and wanted to poke fun at the topic. Bottom line, you should play what you enjoy, and what you can afford.

Native resolution is native resolution. The size of the monitor determines viewing distance. Sitting too far AND sitting too close will diminish the viewing experience. Refresh rates simply depends on the quality of the monitor, both TV or computer.

My point was more that as some people show the HYBRID way is the best, I would rather game on a 50-60" monitor than a traditional computer 24-27" monitor. As far as keyboard/mouse vs controller. I would say PC is better for FPS and MMO. I would say that a Console is better for Sports, most Platforms, and Fighting games like Mortal Kombat. While I may never know the enjoyments of WoW for example, I promise you someone who solely plays PC games, is missing out on the true AWESOMENESS of Metal Gear Solid 4.

@cheeze8888: Ah, my bad. All in good fun. I agree cheeze8888.

@cheeze8888: Cheeze, I must say, you are dead wrong. Fighting games are only acceptable on arcade machines with giant buttons and massive joysticks :D I've found that beating an xbox controller out of frustration or angry spin kick attempts usually ends up with me needing to buy another controller or get a new drink, followed by cleaning up spilled soda on a coffee table.

@travisb7: Well said good sir! I laughed reading that through both times!

@yamamotosama: All good my friend!

We must all be old enough to realize how expensive everything costs. We talked about knocking over drinks and smashing controllers, but no one said throwing it at the TV screen (or computer monitor so everyone is happy!). As adults we know better.

*NOTE: The use of the word 'adult' was referring to our physical age, and clearly not the age of which we should be allowed to put in more hours of video games a day, than the sun is shining per day!

@cheeze8888: Consoles are scams lol, PC has the same capabilities and more =P

In for one. Just an FYI: The price was $11.05, free 2 day shipping with Prime.

I don't understand why @bayjacob is getting voted down: 1920x1080 is not a very high resolution for a computer game anymore. One of the whole points of playing these games on a PC (aside from the lower price) is that the PC supports much higher resolutions, and the games look much better.
