7 Serving Removable Plate Grill for $36.99 + shipping
Seven servings! If we’ve done our math right that’s a burger for every George in the Foreman family.
The dishwasher-safe removable plates are key. It might make it heat up a tiny bit slower, but when it comes time to clean the thing it's essential. I wouldn't ever buy a contact grill without them.
7 servings seems a little overly optimistic though. The thing is only 100 square inches. A sheet of notebook paper is 93.5 square inches.
Overall, not bad for the price as long as you aren't comparing to black friday deals, etc.
Ordered for my GF for v-day...she mentioned she wanted one, I told her I'd let her know when I see them. Surprise!
Add code RPGRILLS to take off another 15%... should come to $31. With tax (about 3.80) and shipping ($12) I'm getting a total of $47. Wonder if that is still a good price?
@tonyschiller: Hmmmmm, appliance for Valentines Day? Not the best choice. Personally, I wouldn't be pissed, but plenty of my friends sure would.
My GF grill sat in the basement for years, until dd wanted a panini one day. We gave it a shot, and it really makes great panini's.
kmartind is absolutely right about the removable plates being essential for these grills! I bought one of these a little over a year ago from DailySteals. It arrived with one of the hinges snapped and I could not get DailySteals to take back the item. However, even with the broken hinge, the convenience of cleaning it was SIGNIFICANTLY better than the old fixed-plate version that I previously used. And now that there's a great deal running on this large grill, I'm in for 1 to replace my broken one!
@theyoz: Thanks!
Considering retail on this grill is $90, that RPGRILLS code brings the grill down to about half price after shipping (46.36 total). I'm calling that a good price.
@theyoz: Thanks for the code! I ordered two for $74.83 total. $31.44 each plus $11.95 shipping. It averages out to $37.42 each shipped to my front door. I'd say that is a good price :)
Ok you guys talked me into it haha... you are welcome for the code :)
I love this grill. We buy the big bags of frozen chicken breasts. Throw those on this grill (still frozen) and I have cooked chicken (without having to dethaw) in 10 mins or less with minimal cleanup due to the removal plates. Great for salads.
Considering how much my wife loves cooking on the GF, and how much I hate cleaning our current non-removable plate GF, this is an autobuy for me. Thanks for the deal and the code!
Me too....I have used a GF for years...this year I went whole hog and ordered the Evolve Grill and ALL the plates including the Waffle plate...which is awesome. Which I paid over $100 for!
For you Vegetarians....this thing is great for grilled veggies too. Chop some cabbage, onions, carrots, zuchinni maybe a little corn or what ever you have on this thing...season to taste...serve over brown rice..YUM. Also awesome on grilled asparagus....the ONLY way I cook it.
As the previous poster said....you can throw a frozen chicken breast (or a rib eye) on this thing and it comes out tender as can be!
I even have the omelet and muffin and deep dish pans....makes a great little omelet I must say...I use this appliance on a daily basis.....Buy this item for this price you won't be sorry.
Is it good for steaks? Please reply...as the only interest for me to buy this is for grilling steaks
@wootagonist: You may get mixed reviews for such a question. Clearly there is something that cannot be matched with outdoor gas/charcoal grills. However, I can tell you this... A GF grill this is absolutely the best way to cook a steak that is not on an actual charcoal/gas grill.
So lets put it this way: IMO, If you are cooking indoors, and you don't have a gas grill built into your kitchen counter-tops, this is as good as it will get for your steaks.
@wootagonist: I agree with @criticalcritic, for the most part. If you don't have an outdoor grill available, or weather prevents its use, the GF grill will quickly cook a steak but doesn't really char the outside. In my opinion, an oven or toaster oven broiler will do a better steak, but that will cost you more electricity and time.
Can't beat it for vegetables, boneless chicken or pork chops, though...
@wootagonist: I cook steaks on mine all the time....it makes a great steak even if frozen. Also....to simulate a charcoal grill you could by "Liquid Smoke" at your grocery store.
But I find this works great for a nice Med Rare steak for my taste!
