IMO, you should check to see if this app includes everything that you expect before you bother to pick it up!

This is and has always been free in Android's various appstores (because it fails to include several elemental features that must be purchased separately). In other words, the Android version contains IAPs that allow you to unlock the ability to remotely access via Wifi or 3G/4G.

Again, you must make additional In-App-Purchases to use this app over wifi or 3G/4G (in the Android version). So I HIGHLY suggest checking this for the same micro-transaction requirements before downloading.

Can't speak for Splashtop 2, but I had gotten the original for free a couple years back and it is great for what it does. Splashtop 1, at least, basically transforms the iPhone into a mouse for your computer; very handy when I have my MBP hooked up to the TV.

I have this - I got it free the last time it was free. I've used it for quite some time and it is my go-to solution for accessing my computer while away. It has never cost me anything, and I have used it with my iPad on wi-fi and on 4G. Check it out and see if you like it!

I use splashtop for android, and I have never paid a thing to use it.

You only have to pay for splashtop on android if you want to access your computer without setting up port forwarding on your router. If you know how to set up port forwarding, then you can use Splashtop, completely free, on android from anywhere in the world that has an internet connection.

I use it routinely with my Acer A500, and with my Win 8 desktop at home, connected with splashtop, it basically makes my Android tablet work exactly like a Win 8 tablet.

I'll check it out..but I usually use Pocket Cloud which has a decent direct connection RDP and Mac VNC Client in it.
