Took em long enough
Target deal is still better. You get an extra disk with 90 mins of behind the scenes footage.

This is a case of where Amazon adding the sales tax hurts them. Normally I would have bought the Amazon deal, but knowing I have to go to Target Thursday means I'll just pick it up there...

Just an FYI -

The Target Bonus Disc is a Blu-Ray that includes 7 featurettes (over 90 mins of original footage) :

1- Assembling the Avengers
2- Iron Man
3- The Incredible Hulk
4- Iron Man 2
5- Thor
6- Captain America: The First Avenger
7- Marvel's the Avengers

Considering that it's OOS from Target online, and as someone who drove around to three B&M Targets with no luck (all OOS), I think the Amazon deal is great for what it is. :)

Thought I should post this over here also -

Everyone trying to get a copy from Target - CALL FIRST - if they have any copies in stock, they will normally hold one for you for a couple of hours (sometimes up to 24 hours)

I just want the bluray disk so I'm waiting for BF. Or, if someone wants to send me their BR disk, I'll happily pay $10 for it (I have no interest in the 3d or digital stuff). My email is my woot name @gmail. :)

Amazon Pre-Order Price Guarantee FTW!

vote-for4vote-against

If you didn't get your reduced-price copy from Target this morning, you may be out of luck.

vote-for1vote-against

totally had to fight with Amazon to get my price adjustment even with the fact t hat my order has not shipped yet (ordered on Saturday). I threatened to refuse delivery. did get it though, however if I can locate one at a target nearby on next couple of days I will get it and return Amazon's. Kinda want the extra disc.

vote-for3vote-against

Good thing amazon is so easy to shop with compared to best buy LOL They price match everyone now :P

vote-for1vote-against

Targets near me sold out within 20 minutes of opening of the blu-ray/3-D version. However, that version doesn't say "no rainchecks" in the weekly ad, so Target gave me a raincheck to use until November for the multi-disk set for $19.99. Might not get it now, but should see copies arrive before then, I'm hoping.

get it at Amazon for the same price! :)

vote-for4vote-against

Just bought it with free two day (prime) shipping. I'll get it Thursday.

vote-for-26vote-against

Amazon prime sucks balls...I will just get this locally. I don't need the 3D anyway. Plus I hate Amazon now for what they did to Woot.

vote-for6vote-against

Thanks for the head ups. I picked up my copy about 3pm, right after i saw this. They were actually resetting the Avengers display, and i had to ask if they had any 3d copies. The lady handed me the last copy. I felt like a king.

vote-for6vote-against

@wootmeharder: Prime is great if you buy a lot from amazon, shipping on items 5-10 times can easily add up to the $80 it costs (or more depending on what you're buying).

It's a 3d deal that's the SAME PRICE as just a plain blu-ray, and only $3 more than just the dvd.

vote-for2vote-against

walked into my local best buy and they matched it with no questions asked... $19.99

vote-for1vote-against

@theoneill555: who watches the "extra" extras, not me. At $19.99 PM at Bestbuy, I'm happy. I have the 3D disc, bluray, dvd, etc.. Great deal

vote-for4vote-against

Anyone who enjoys special features, definitely pick it up from target. The exclusive 90 minute featurette is great. Better than the on disc special features.

vote-for2vote-against

ordered in august from amazon, receiving it later today from UPS, price match guarantee means credit card is only being charged 19.99 and I didn't have to run to a dozen stores or even scour deals sites?

vote-for-7vote-against

@lexian: Um, neither did I. I just went to Target and bought one and that was on my way to work. Good effort at feeling superior, though.

vote-for2vote-against

Well this is super lame. I ordered mine a couple of days ago - the 2 disc version - from amazon and it was the same price. It shipped today and now I see this. Also, there's not a Target anywhere around here so I can at least not feel as badly about that. Strange though that Target got an exclusive that actually has stuff from the movie on it.... normally stores get exclusives that are extra things like tshirts or posters.

vote-for-2vote-against

And Target gives you an extra 5% off with your Target Visa. Think Amazon would match that too? No.

vote-for5vote-against

@starbob: I had the same problem. So I ordered the 4 disc set from Amazon and just plan on sending the 2 disc version back to get a refund on it. Amazon may get some flak about some things, but their customer service is top-notch.

vote-for1vote-against

@andrasko15: It's also great now that it includes lots of free streaming. I watched six seasons of Doctor Who because of prime and all the movies.

vote-for4vote-against

I had preordered mine from Walmart and got the Peter David Avengers Season One Graphic Novel with the 2 disc. I don't care about the 3D or Digital copy but I am a bit jealous of the extra 90 minutes of behind the scenes stuff...

vote-for1vote-against

Is the Digital copy DRM-crippled?

vote-for2vote-against

my local target had them back in stock today (wednesday) for the $19.99... so keep checking if you want the extra disc.

vote-for1vote-against

i was at my local target earlier today and they had a whole display setup w/ the 4 disc set. there must have been at least 50 copies in stock, and this was sometime after 6pm local time...but they did also have the little tear-sheet raincheck cards on the display also. i guess they didn't sell as many as they were hoping to sell.

vote-for1vote-against

The Target deal is $19.99 for Blu-Ray 3D/Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy/Target Exculsive disc and Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital Copy/Target Exculsive disc. Just bought mine today. The price was marked at $24.99 for the one with 3D but a sales person said that it was posted wrong. The sale is going on until 9/29. The Target in Montgomery, AL still had a lot for those in the area.
