Odd that 'Windows' is not a choice in the survey. Hmmm.

vote-for1vote-against

I just selected "Other"...

In for one; I have a throwaway email account that I use specifically for stuff like this.

vote-for1vote-against

@acraigl: Windows is not a choice because Novell is all about Unix/Linux.

We will see if the card comes.

vote-for16vote-against

that reminds me...i did one of these months ago for a free Iron Man 2 poster or iTunes card and never got it.

I dont care about IM2 and I hate apple, but still I like free stuff...unless its herpes...

vote-for1vote-against

Limited Number of Cards? How many is limited? 10?

vote-for7vote-against

I get a "Success" page after submitting. I see they use Eloqua, so I know there should be more than just a blank page with "Success"

vote-for2vote-against

No the odd bit is Suse Linus is not listed as Novell owns Suse.

vote-for1vote-against

Success? Try FAIL!
Did this work for anyone? So sad, too bad.

vote-for2vote-against

"Success"..........wait.......what?

vote-for1vote-against

Sucess..I am sucess YEAH!!! lol I also have a throw away email account for these types of offers. They can spam me all they want. I do hope to get the free itunes card. I am not holding my breath.

vote-for5vote-against

"Success". Will update if/when spam/giftcard cometh.

vote-for1vote-against

Got Success, but who knows if anyone will get one.......

vote-for0vote-against

Has anyone checked to see if this is really a Novell website and not just some information-gathering scam? Even if it is do you really want to sell your personal information for a card that Novell gets at a big discount? It says they will be contacting you.

vote-for1vote-against

How come I search for Itunes Promo on Novell and nothing comes up? SCAM!!!!

vote-for4vote-against

@bangchan: It looks legit to me, it's on the Novel domain and takes you to a third party site that seems to be running the promotion for them that also looks legit (if sparse)

Thanks @jn082105 for posting!

got my card from Oracle last week and have been happily shooting angry little birds at green pigs since then :-p

Obviously, this page was put up by Tim & Eric. SUCCESS!

vote-for2vote-against

@tygerdave - I am using my card from Oracle to shoot fire-coated peas at zombies that try to raid my lawn!

vote-for1vote-against

@bangchan: Yes lol

Any of my personal information (with exception of my CC number, SSN, and other sensitive information) is available for a price :)

vote-for1vote-against

If it looks like a scam and sounds like a scam... don't waste your time.

vote-for1vote-against

Whoohoo! How often do I honestly get to answer Solaris on any of these stupid drop downs!?

If anything comes out of this, sweet...if not, no big deal.

vote-for2vote-against

Linux over unix any day. The penguin will triumph!

vote-for2vote-against

Even if you put no information, it still says "success".

vote-for1vote-against

The people at Woot added side pic of iTunes. Are the OCD and need to add a pic to every deal? :)

vote-for1vote-against

Success! I've solved the case!
OBJECTION!

vote-for1vote-against

Great Success!!

Its a race! Its a race! Im winning! Im winning!!!

vote-for1vote-against

@outergeorge: Penguin = win

and I tried it. If I get a card.. I get card. If i don't they get a crap email.
I got this from someone on woot ages ago it works well if anyone doesn't want to set up a gmail or hotmail account.

http://mailinator.com/ Let the mailinator eat your junk mail!

I actually signed up for this promotion under a month ago, and had an iTunes gift card mailed to me in a plain white envelope with the Novell logo within two weeks. I use my work email address (it is a federal *.gov email), and usually get all of the free stuff from Novell in their past promotions.

vote-for2vote-against

@paisannyc: Did they contact you via email to get you MAILING address? The only way this seems to work is if a) the "Success" page used to ask for mailing info for the card (and has been replaced now that the cards are gone) or b) they send a coupon code via email for the gift card.

Signed up a little while ago & no email. Dead deal?

vote-for3vote-against

Is iTunes even available for Linux? I think not...

vote-for1vote-against

Use a disposable email address to prevent spam.

vote-for1vote-against

"Success" is better than an "error code: Buttafuoco" anytime ....

vote-for1vote-against

I got the Oracle iTunes card, but it was $15 instead of $25 as the page originally stated. It's possible that Novell can email a coupon code/link to be used in iTunes directly. No need to mail a physical card since all you need is the code anyway.

vote-for1vote-against

I just tried submitting blank info again, it wouldn't let me this time.

Interesting.

vote-for2vote-against

August 23, 2010, Novel ran out of iTunes Cards...
it is on the novell forums

vote-for1vote-against

I find it funny that the third party website is a windows based site runnig asp.net

:-)
