First code only works if the order is over $999.99.
I can confirm that it it comes out to 749.99
I don't understand why this is so much, yet still a deal. Looking at the specs for this, how can it be more the $250-$300? What am I missing?
@brainshank: This is worth a hell of a lot more than $250-$300; it isn't a 'netbook'. The i5 or i7 processor in the computer is much more powerful than your typical netbook processor, and it can handle up to 8 gb of RAM. It also has a much better graphics card than you'll find in any netbook.
Thanks. I saw less than 2 Ghz processing speed and got confused.
I still don't think this is a deal. The i5 is cool and a nice graphics card, but this isn't really a deal IMO. 160gb HD, 4Gb RAM makes this thing middling for a laptop. I bought my Vaio for $550 over a year agoand outside of having 2 cores instead of 4 (I know, sounds dumb out loud), it beats or ties this deal everywhere else. I think this is an example of Dell exerting its influence over Alien, which Alien "claims" doesn't exist. "Come on, make us a cheap gaming laptop..."
@rmcalhou2: Well there's your problem right there. You think a Vaio is better than an alienware anything just because your pc has "Sony" in front of it. The M11x is awesome sauce'um. Hook this baby up to a nice sized moniter and put the laptop off to the side, you have a gaming PC for less than 800 bucks.
I bought a 15" Gateway FX series gaming laptop with better grafx, 4GB ram, 250GB 7200RPM HDD, and a Core2 Duo (2.0GHz) for $750 from BestBuy almost two years ago. The only thing that could be better about this Alienware is the CPU. I'm sure the netbook size is convenient, but not THAT convenient.
I may actually spring for one of these... I recently picked up a BFGtech Deimos, and my only issue with it is that it weighs 30 lbs and doesn't fit on an airplane. the MX11 is, however, a very portable gaming netbook.
would have been an instant buy, but 160gb HD is way too small, I didn't know they even made laptops w/ those anymore. Weak.
Those knocking down this "netbook" aren't seeing the bigger picture. This isn't a 15" gaming laptop. Put a heavy 15" laptop on your lap, airplane tray, bus, or even in your laptop bag - and then do the same thing with this 11" one. There are people who can't use 15" in 99% of the situations they are in, and that's where this 11" shines. It can do everything your 15" gaming laptop can do but in a much smaller form factor, which appeals to people that need this.
It's like saying, "why buy an SUV/minivan/etc when my civic has seats, tires, and an engine too, for $20k less?" Tell that to a family with 4 kids, a baby, and a dog. It just calls for different situations.
And it doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why smaller form factors in laptops are generally more expensive than equivilance in power larger ones.
I will say this, I bought it when it first came out in February/March. I absolutely love it, and while it is < 2GHz, I'm able to game on it, do plenty of rendering, whatever I need to do, and the battery life is awesome. It's not your normal "netbook"
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6361944&CatId=3998 17" screen and close to equal specs for $20. I'm just saying. Maybe yoo-yoo is right and I'm missing the potential here, but I'm not paying $750 because it says Alienware on it, just like I wouldn't pay $1100 because it said Apple on it. Also, I'm no Sony fanboy by any means. My Vaio has been sent to San Diego twice now. I'm just commenting on specs for value...
@yoyoo81 From Dell: "The Most Powerful 11” Gaming Laptop in the Universe." Don't you think that's like saying "I have the most kick @$$ Dodge Neon on the block!" :)
I can't get the coupons to work. It keeps telling me that it only works on select systems. Did they kill it for the m11x?
@veejayxl: Make sure you leave it as it is and not try making any upgrades?
I tried that, it still didn't work.
@rmcalhou2: Don't diss the Neon, dude. A friend of mine has a Dodge Neon SRT4 that does pretty damn well for itself in a race.
was going to buy, but got this message: * We're sorry, the coupon code you have entered has already expired or has reached the maximum redemption limit.
