There are no Lone Star Steakhouses in the Lone Star State :(

I just discovered the same thing. Boooo.

Wow! I hadn't noticed that...just doesn't seem right. :-/ All of the States surrounding TX have one though! We pop down to TX all the time for restaurants that aren't near us.

Maybe it is for the same reason there are no Red Lobster restaurants in Maine.

@randomtom That makes sense cuz LoneStar SteakHouse is bomb and Texas bl0ws.

My wife and I used to love the one that was less than a mile from our house, but it closed years ago. Now the closest one is in Delaware. :(

There a quite a few states that don't have a Lone Star....room to expand. Come on over to Western NY. Anyone else want to invite Lone Star to their location? Link to where they are now http://www.lonestarsteakhouse.com/files/locations.aspx

I've ate at Lone Star 3 times. I always ask for a medium-well steak and they always burn it. One person I was with (one time) had medium rare. It was pink inside and burned outside. Avoid this place like the plague!

WTF? You call yourself Lone Star Steakhouse, and you don;t have 1 location in Texas. F OFF!

@randomtom: You aren't missing anything. I went to one on business travel once and it was bad and depressing (empty restaurant except me, now I understand why). Even Outback is way better

@sixiam: Definitely atypical. Why don't you let us all know what city you're in so we can avoid that one? I've had great food on every visit (O'Fallon, IL).

They have had this kind of special in the past but offered betters apps and dinner options instead of getting a dessert, and I liked that better. My mom loves to eat here when I go home I break...me not so much.

They also seemed to have changed their bread from what I remember, not as good anymore.

Still not the worst deal for places like this.

The main reason I go to Lonestar is to get a Texas Rose. If this coupon does not include that appetizer, I have no use for it.

I'm a server at Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon. I can answer any questions you guys have.

For starters, this special's been around for about six months now, and they're winding it down. At our restaurant, we don't even have promotional stuff on the table anymore. It's available on inquiry, but seeing as us servers hate this deal, we don't advertise it. About that TEXAS ROSE: yeah, it's on there. If your server gives you flak about it, just tell them you had it there before on the special and it wasn't a problem. Most of the time they'll stop bluffing or go ask their manager, and the company doesn't like bad feedback. So, you'll get that one. You can always call and ask a manager before you go if it's that important.

Also, about the name. It violates a Texan copyright for them to be in Texas and call themselves "Lone Star Steakhouse and Saloon." That's why you don't see any there. There are, however, some in Australia.

Our restaurant's decent. Some are awful. Varies by location.
