Keep in mind that this is a used copy of the game. If you want to play online multiplayer you would need to buy a Ubisoft Uplay pass ($10) in order to play online multiplayer.

If you have no intention to playing online then this is a good deal.

Available new (with online pass, obviously) direct through amazon for $19.99 as well. Might fluctuate by tomorrow, though.

I like the game, but then I'm a bit of an Assassin's Creed fanboy. For those of you excited to play as Altair, the memories of him aren't that long, so don't have too high hopes.

With rental resale, they often still contain the original content that comes from a new game... so no need to worry about online pass. You'll receive the box, instructions, and all the goodies it may have when bought new.

When you buy used from Gamefly the only thing that is used is the disc itself. The case, instructions, and DLC (if any) are all brand new and have never been used.

For someone that is not familiar with the Assassin's Creed storyline (never played any of the earlier titles) would it be bad to jump in on this one, or should I play through the earlier titles first?

@evan97tj: They typically have some "last time on assassins creed" type cut scenes but you're still going to miss a decent amount of back story. It is one of the few games where the writers actually put a honest effort into research and telling the story. So it is worth your time to go back and start at the beginning. Plus all the old titles are dirt cheap by now!
