I ran out of room...you must have an iTunes account before you can download the music.

That link took me to a page full of apps, but I did find the sampler on there after looking closer. Thanks for sharing! I like free!

Actually, I found the sampler album on the front page of the iTunes store.

@trekmiss: yeah, sorry about that. I am having one of those brainfart kind of days. I found it when I was surfing around the iTunes store today too. Just couldn't figure out a way to link it for others without iTunes app firing up. Oh well, glad you found it.
The Amazon 25 Tunes of Christmas (or whatever it's called) is pretty good too. The link is somewhere here on deals.woot. I found almost 2 dozen free holiday music downloads on my first look-see.

speaking of the free Amazon mp3s. Most of them are already available in the "free mp3" section. I notice that each day they give out a new mp3 that has already been available in their free section. that may change, but that's been the case so far.

@walton100: I noticed that too. Pick up some of the Christmas "Lounge music" while surfing around. Pretty kitschy stuff! Not bad for 99 cents a pop and it's fun to mix it up with the more traditional tunes.

The actual link would be:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/itunes-holiday-sampler/id344104720

Opening in your browser. Then there's the "View in iTunes" link on that page:

itms://itunes.apple.com/us/album/itunes-holiday-sampler/id344104720

Thanks much.

Missed this free Xmas album.
More Christmas music to throw into the iPod. Yay.
Tho nothing will compare to that Lady Gaga Xmas tune from the Amazon Tunes store.
Who'd thunk to put Lady Gaga and Christmas together.

Happy Festivus, you'all.

@larryforrester: First, do you have the iTunes application? If not, you can download it from Apple.com.
Once you have it installed & running, you'll be able to go to the iTunes store and set up an account. The free Holiday Sampler album download should be located down towards the bottom of their home page. It's titled "Holiday Sampler" by various artists. The link graphic is "Holiday Sampler" written on a sign in the snow. Click the link and follow the directions. If you get confused, use their "help" section.

@hobbit: If you haven't discovered it already and like good storytelling, try The Moth Podcast. It's great to listen to when you aren't in the mood for music.
By the way, I've discovered that I can not run and laugh at the same time...and it was dangerous to realize this while on a treadmill.

You know, my kids are asking me why I'm "doing the woot stuff" when I receive nothing tangible in return. Couldn't tell them anything other than it was fun. But reading the comments here make me feel like I AM getting something out of it. It's a funky sort of "paying it forward" feeling to share a good deal.

@lavikinga: Thanks! I usually listen to my iPod on the bus when I ride in to work. laughing on there might be a bit odd too. This might also be something I can share with my boss and another friend.

just go to iTunes and click on free tab. the holiday sampler album comes up

@cane95: That works, of course, but I was trying to come up with a link for those people who didn't have iTunes downloaded on their computers.
