These things really work. I got one for my beagle and it slowed him down nicely.

Be sure to get one that is the right size for your pet. Smaller appears to be better than larger. You don't want them to have large spaces where your dog can fit his whole nose, or they can eat just as quickly.

Not really good for pugs or bulldogs. They can't get their noses past the raised spots.

^ Agreed - We recently rescued a Corgi and she ate so quickly I thought she'd choke. We got one of these bowls and while she still tries to eat quickly, it's slowed her down considerably.

My cat used to wail and wail until we fed him. He'd eat way too fast, immediately throw up and then start wailing again for food. It was quite the cycle.

I wonder if these are safe for humans to eat out of? It would be great to use at Golden Corral Buffet to slow down some folks instead of watching them gorge themselves while dining out of a 5 gallon bucket !

@dufus2506: Do you think these are safe for humans to eat from?

You could always keep your attention focused on your table. Examples of poor manners are everywhere if you look to find them.
