Precise, versatile and economically priced, this gauge is a worthwhile addition to any workshop. Beyond its obvious function as a height gauge, where it is ideal for setting router bits or table saw blades, it can also be used horizontally, such as when positioning a router table or drill press fence. However, there is another valuable feature that is not immediately apparent – the readout and scale unit can be removed from the base and mounted to a shop-built jig with double-sided tape or screws (#1 or #2).
NOTE: Shipping was $7.95 when I calculated it. But the closest/cheapest thing I could find on Amazon was this one, with far fewer features, for $44.50 including shipping. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001RHGYVE/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=aspiarts-20&linkCode=as2&camp=217145&creative=399369&creativeASIN=B001RHGYVE
