The 1.8 actually IS the Nifty Fifty. At $99 it's a good price. But are they a reputable dealer?

The 1.4 isn't called the Nifty Fifty.

Here's a whole thread on the Nifty Fifty on a photography forum.

And yes, I'm Killjoy on there too!

Edit: I just went and looked the link. This is for an imported lens. Better known as Grey Market. No US warranty.
If it breaks, you are S.O.L.

B&H Photo Video has the Grey Market version at $109, but if you have a problem, they will take care of it for you.
The USA version is $119.00

Know what you are buying.

@killjoy: good to know re: 1.4 vs 1.8. For what it's worth, my dad and his other pro photog friends were using the term back in the 60's, before the ef series, or the current fad of nicknaming every lens and it referred to any flavor of the 50 primes - 1.2, 1.4, 1.8, etc. that it's now been coined specifically to the mkII 1.8 is interesting - thanks for the link.

Re: foreign canon products - while it's certainly a YMMV issue, i've had 4 occasions to request warranty service on non domestic canon items over the past 12 years... some legitimately puchased while abroad, and others purchased from any of the famous NY photo shops - B&H included. Canon never gave me an issue, as long as i could provide my receipt (faxed at the time lol) and sometimes the upc from the box (earlier - cut out and send. lately - scan and email).
