Got one at this price, use it for my car stereo. No complaints! Love being able to load a substantial portion of my music collection at one time.

Newegg is even kind enough to provide a link to the correct rebate form on your order page, even if you wait three weeks to deal with it!

I have one of these and have no complaints. Works as it should.

@75grandville: Can you organize it by folders or does it just read everything at once and you have to skip through mountains of tracks to get to what you want?

@dmccarth: My car stereo recognizes the folder structure, and I can jump forward/back by folder or by track. That's true for an aftermarket JVC and a stock factory Hyundai system. Your experience is going to depend on your stereo.

@cobracat03: Thanks for posting - you reminded me to fill out the rebate form before it expired.

Anybody have any past experience with Patriot's rebates?

@dmccarth: As a professional mobile electronics installer, I have yet to find a modern aftermarket headunit that doesn't recognize the folder structure.

nice, but kinda slow read/write speeds. 3MB/sec write will take forever to load this thing with files.

@kamikazeken: Not really. 1000 songs at 3-8 Mb (5.5 avg.) should only take 5500 seconds ~ 90 minutes... just go watch a TV show and take a shower, done when you are.

Anyone can correct me if I am wrong.

I ordered one of these from NewEgg the last time these came up and I love it. The rebate was standard, took about the normal time but I got it. The drive works great and I love how small it is. I'm always afraid I'm going to whack the standard ones sticking out of my laptop, desktop, etc., so the small size works really well. In for (another) one!

@straub: I have two of these from Patriot, both involved rebates. The rebates do come, and Patriot keeps you updated by email as to what stage you are in (we got your request, your request has been accepted, etc.).

As with ANY rebate, make sure you do every piddly little thing they ask for. Circle dates and/or purchases if that is what they ask, sign it if there is a place to do so. I am convinced people have problems with rebates because they can't do what they are asked to do. I always get my rebates.

Oh by the way, love my two 32GB Patriot drives. Yeah, a little slow, but for my use, and for $10 a/r, I'm happy.
