I ordered mine via slickdeals.net this morning and they have canceled my order.

"We would like to thank you for taking advantage of our 24 Hours deal on the 24" LED Samsung Monitor, for $219.99 after a $60.00 Coupon. Your order is in our system however the coupon entry was duplicated, thus lowering the price by $120.00 instead of the intended $60.00.

As advertised the final price should be $219.99, which is already a specially discounted sale. Because of our quick order processing, by the time we realized this error had taken place, our warehouse had already tendered the order to the shipping carrier. The double discounted price is too far under our cost, and therefore we are in the process of routing your order back to our warehouse"

Avoid.

I never was a fan of Circuit Sh*tty... Yes, I know they went out of business & for a reason! Tiger Direct bought their branding & website... (I do believe) Not a fan of Tiger Direct either...

You can get this monitor for the same sale price. It's only 23" but it has a better contrast ratio, brightness, and an HDMI port.

24", but only 1080? No thanks.

The user's manual states that it works in HDCP mode if you set it in "AV" mode. Go to the Samsung website for the manual. So it just needs an HDMI to DVI converter. That's what I use on my Acer. It's 1920x1080 by the way.

I don't think the lack of HDMI is a drawback. This is a computer monitor after all, and not a TV (no tuner, no speakers). The reviews aren't the best overall (see retrevo link), but I'd still get this Samsung any day over a comparable Acer - especially with the 3 year parts and labor warranty. The real seller here is that it's a side-lit LED panel. That's a further reduction in hazardous materials in the product, and a brighter display while consuming less power than the average reading lamp. It's green and will save some green.

$279.99 on Amazon (http://amzn.to/c0kiwl) with 3/5 stars and some pretty iffy reviews http://amzn.to/aSCGeN

Nine reviews is not all that great of a sample. I love read to see how nitpicky the 1-star reviews are.

I love the way this guy thinks.

@claudicina: Never could figure why there was an argument made that lower frame rates are better.

@autryld: Lower frame rates are certainly not "better." However, 24 FPS is the norm when viewing film and has a definite "feel" to it. I'm personally uncomfortable when I see non-gaming video at 60FPS or more. Seems unnatural.
