I got one of these from the last Woot-off. As a blu-ray player it's fine, but the "smart hub" features - Netflix, YouTube, etc. - feel a bit sluggish.

wasn't this just on moofi yesterday?

Nope, that was the BD-D5700, this is the BD-E5700. Not sure what the difference is, probably not much, but they aren't exactly the same.

The E5700 has 2 stars on Amazon, the D has 3.

I bet they are the same thing. A lot of manufactures will change the model #'s just slightly for diff. retail outlets. All for price matching purposes, can't "match or beat" a price if it is not the same model can they??

according to the reviews i read, this model (E5700) has MAJOR issues connecting to netflix...i.e., it basically won't. :( bummer, because i was definitely ready to buy this!!

@kendallk: Seems like they may have a fix for that

• Note: if you experience problems connecting to Netflix, please download the available firmware upgrade

This model DOES NOT SUPPORT 3D. If that's something of interest to you, do not buy.

The E5700 has its controls on the right and a front USB port. The D5700 has its controls in the middle and no front USB port. There may be more, but that's what I could tell by looking at the pictures anyway.

Good luck if you have a problem with this trying to deal with Dailysteals

@broadsword85: Unfortunately that seems to be the case on all of the Smart Hub apps regardless of device. Just too ambitious for something that the internal hardware hasn't caught up with yet. However, once you actually get to what you're doing and start playing video, from what I've seen it stays pretty smooth and consistent.

In for one. Don't need all the extras, just a good Blu-ray and DVD player.

I just sold the e5900 (same thing but plays 3D) on eBay for $110. So this is a pretty solid deal.

I bought one of these a few weeks back, the internet blows. Always buffering. I did wifi first figured connection strength was an issue so I hard wired it. Same issue. EVERYTHING buffers constantly. My Sony and LG work flawlessly. Avoid samsung internet blu rays till they get there issues fixed
