I remember the Black Friday deals that Amazon had the past couple years. First they tried something like what Woot does where you had to be the first to order it. And like Woot and the BOC the servers crapped out pretty fast. Another year they had a voting system where you just sat around and waited to be emailed to see if you were allowed to buy the deal. I think they've finally gotten it right this year!

Too bad the Netbook didn't have more at the promotional price! Amazon rocks though; always a first stop to compare before looking around elsewhere and usually end up back for the purchase!

First choice for me too. Never an issue with purchase or support. Love the new PC based free Kindle books. Not many newish ones yet but the 3 I tried have been good. Reader is best yet for me over past many years of
these things. Many traditional free books there too.

Could not find any good deals in the Software section. I am looking for a sweet deal on the Dragon Naturally Speaking software. Last year had some nice deals.

I was trying to post this earlier... but deals.woot was giving me some issues. Would go backwards when I pressed backspace, but I seem to have the hang of it now. :-)

In anycase, some of the items earlier were pretty good. Rock Band 2 for $70... Black & Red Nintendo DS for 97.98...

Basically, as their description of the sale states, they keep an eye on other retailers sales and ads... then meet or beat the deal. The deals are timed, and are for a certain number of the items. One can spend their time watching the clock dwindle down... or the percentage sold go up.

I know last year, they had another interesting process... where you would sign up for 1 of three items... and then it was a random process as to if you got what you signed up for or not. And these were GREAT deals... like PS3's for $100 off, etc.
