This is only good for NEW subscribers!

From terms: If you or another member of your household has been a Netflix member within the last 12 months, you are not eligible to receive a free trial.

i dont think weve had enough free 1 month trials of netflix in the past few weeks, why dont we have one everday!

FYI: They've recently made their iPad app completely useless, and even buggier.

Isn't this always a deal? Back when I was cheap, I had Netflix for free for about half a year. It was awesome.

@trunknoises: so get a new email and become a NEW subscriber!

@iggz: I think it is... or at the very least they have a deal like this so often and available from so many sources, it's essentially a constant thing.

I don't know how you could beat $10 a month though if you even somewhat enjoy movies. Streaming + one dvd can satisfy all the movie/tv you'd want to watch. I'm debating giving up cable... except I don't think I could live without catching those fantastic AMC shows in a timely manner...

You can go get this on their website at ANY time... not a "deal".

@brandonwardlaw: i use my ipad every night to watch netflix and I just did the update. Works for me just fine.

@starbob: That's exactly what I did, but I only do streaming. I got rid of cable and bought a Roku. I also have a PS3 that will stream Netflix. I think you can have up to like 7 devices on the same Netflix account, so even my brother who is in a different state uses the same account as me with his Roku. It's pretty badass.

All for $7.99.

@basileverstar: Actually the trial is usually only for 15 days and they now take PayPal. I've been waiting for them to offer this full month trial again and to take other forms of payments, since they wouldn't take my debit card for some weird reason.

@jrunri I set up Netflix for my mother a week ago and you get a 1 month trial on Netflix.com. I have never heard of a 15 day trial.

vote-for1vote-against

usually I only see 2=week free trials, this is a deal

several of the networks have announced that their current episodes will not be released to netflix right away like they have been (dexter, etc) so next season you'll have to wait til they come out on dvd or pay for hbo/showtime.

I am holding out for Redbox streaming for $3.50 a month out later this year. Not sure of the details however. Netfix might be the better deal if Redbox is too limited in their selection.

Another streaming offer that's useless without a way to get broadband to stream it? Since 2/3 of the US can't get broadband when are they going to start offering broadband with these streaming offers?

vote-for1vote-against

@stevec5000: I use wi-max...it was designed to be implemented in rural areas where other broadband wasn't available...not the fastest out there but seems pretty reliable. I don't think you'll be able to play x-box live or anything, but I've had good luck playing my 3DS online...streams Netflix fine in standard def...the ISP I use is called Openrange...they charge about $40.00 per month...

@iggz: I like to have the DVD just for newer movies and the ones that never seem to come to instant play. There's more than enough on instant alone to satisfy the needs of your average television watcher.

if you are signed up for "ebay bucks", and sign up for the netflix trial through ebay's portal (member summary page), you get $20 in ebay bucks.

*ebay bucks expire 30 days from issue.

@stevec5000: it isn't 2/3 of people in the US, it is 2/3 of the area of the US. Less than 10% of Americans cannot get high-speed internet. DSL can stream Netflix just fine, by the way.

I just got a letter in the mail from them offering a full month trial to coax me back into signing up again. I thought I was just special... :( now everyone gets a one month trial...

I might keep it this time anyway since I'm going to be starting a very nice job soon.

@iggz: and a new bank account and a new credit card and a new mailing address?

I just signed up for this yesterday. They do make you give you're CC info but won't charge you until after your free month trial is up. I don't think I'm going to cancel though, they have a lot of content available to stream and the quality is pretty good through my PS3. If you are planning to stream through you're Wii, as you might expect, not the best quality.
