I think this may be the loweset price I have seen for the refurb. I bought this same refurb from amazon and I couldn't tell the difference from new. I love these remotes. Charging base instead of batteries is a big plus!

In for one. My 3-year-old 880 is starting to show some wear on some contact points from buttons. I love this thing!

I've had a refurb'ed 880 for about 1.5 years and really like it.

As for the reviews you'll read elsewhere about it not charging on the station after a while.... Just use some rubbing alcohol on a Q-Tip to clean the contacts if (when) it starts giving you trouble. It will continue to work just fine.

@anotherhiggins: I have not had a problem with the charging base as of yet and I have had mine for about the same time. Thanks for tip. My only problem has been with the battery door cover breaking from my daughter dropping it. I had a hell of a time trying to find a replacement and even logitech support said they weren't available. But luckily through a web search deep into the web pages where we don't usually travel I found a forum link to the part. I found it again but they say they are out of stock and not showing a pic. Here it is if you ever need it:

@fenstar: No, you are right. The deal is dead. These low price harmony refurbs don't usually stay around for long and they hike the price back up. It was a great price - they want $111 now. I will ask for a tombstone.

Great device for as long as it works. I'd not be surprised if they have a constant supply of refurbished units, however.

Mine lasted about 2 years - purchased new @ Target, now it won't communicate with the computer to change any of the settings. A shame too, since I really liked the remote and how it worked.

Love this remote! I've had it for 3 years. I bought mine refurbished back then for 169.99 with free shipping when it retailed for 299.99. It's fully upgradeable and they improve the software every year or so as well. Up until now I've seen it selling on eBay and other sites for about 139.99 and up so this is a GREAT deal!!

Can anyone tell me if it would be worth upgradng from a Philips Prestigo sru 8112? It does what I bought it to do, but if the functions of the Harmony are worth the upgrade, I would probably do it.

Spend a little more and get the 700. I have an 880 I use in my bedroom and as soon as it's dead I'll be replacing it with the 700. I can definitely live without the charging base seeing as how it comes with a much more ergonomic button layout. Plus, its just all around easier use and navigate.

Bought a new (damaged box) remote straight from logitch for $100 around the beginning of january/end of december. Couldn't be happier - remote does everything I need, is very easy to use and I haven't had the charging issues everyone is complaining about (I think I have the updated model that fixes though - which is why there are/were quite a few refurbs).

Excellent remote.
