You may be wondering why two remotes?

"One for them to find, one for you to keep."

@curtisuxor: Well theres that and then there is the obvious answer that every car comes with 2 sets of keys (well 3 if you want to be technical and you count the valet key) So one set for you and the other set for your wife/gf ( although that may not have eve occurred to you for one reason or another)or your valet set or if you loose your keys you still have a way to disable your alarm...

My cousin has this system and it is awesome!!!

Don't cars all come with this already? If you need a wireless remote pickup one on ebay.

@stevec5000: this is a full car alarm with 2 remotes. The 2 remotes alone sell for more then the price of this system that includes 2 remote and the actual alarm

I just drunk bought this for my 2008 chevy colorado. It doesn't have an alarm. Was this a mistake? Also, the truck has manual locks.

@captkyle: You're gonna have to install Power Locks if you want to utilize the remotes for remote locking/unlocking. I've installed them before and it was a huge PITA because the stock wiring harness didn't support them

Python is a quality brand so this is a pretty good deal

vote-for2vote-against

I would agree with @promyst Python is a pretty good brand. I had a little better system in one of my older vehicles(basically it had a starter on top of the features this offers). But when I got my new car upon the suggestion of my friend I decided to buy a Viper system for my new car and I have to say it is probably the best thing I have ever paid for, you can even use your iPhone to start your car, unlock it, etc. if you lock you keys in your car or something.

EDIT: upon doing a little further research I have found that python now offers a "smart start" app with their systems too(newer models only obviously so this is probably disqualified.

@fudgepuff: see this - http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&q=viper+3203v&um=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&biw=1920&bih=943&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=16079886084827561853&sa=X&ei=q-jhTcSdAcLngQfd_vW0Bg&ved=0CDkQgggwAA

Viper and python are both made by DEi - they often times produce the same item under both brands - as is the case here. This is a Viper just in a Python box

@gooddeals18: I see that now, they are still very good starters and security devices none-the-less. This model is actually new and does qualify for the smart start.... It is a good product but I really would recommend getting a starter as well for anyone who lives in an area with adverse winter weather conditions these are little miracles on a cold winter morning.

How hard is it to install one of these?

My van already has a keyless entry system, but not an alarm...

edit: isn't this a better deal? http://www.gooddeals18.com/c=7SpHuG98XN1pD2eJNfT5PxrY5/product/B5202P/Python-872-Responder-2-Way-car-alarm--Remote-Starter.html

wish it had a remote start option...

The seller is responding to Q's? I am impressed. Either he stands behind his product or he has no life.

Good starter. Great company. Sick price! - we are car dealers. Gooddeals18 has hooked us up

How would this work on 1960 VW singlecab truck ?

vote-for1vote-against

@freakvault: This is best for older cars. If you already have a keyless entry system it will be nearly impossible to install unless you can get the car's service manual with all the wiring diagrams and are able to figure out the electronics. It's best to get the alarm option that goes with your car.

Jeesh, I need an alarm for my car, but I want a remote starter too. Anyone know where I can get a remote starter system that could be added onto this system?
