It just so happens that the only Cinemark in Michigan is right by my house, but they aren't having the marathon at it...

I'm voting down b/c Cinemark advertises this;
"Purchase a large drink and get UNLIMITED $1 refills"

How, in any conceivable way, is that a deal? You're still paying for the drink, but you have to pay for refills?

@akivaran: So you are voting down the movie marathon because you think it is wrong for them to charge for drink refills at the concession? Whatever.

BTW, do you know of any theater that offers unlimited free drink refills? Because I have never seen one. I've see one free refill and then you have to buy a new soda, but not unlimited free refills.

@jonamon23: That's too bad. It appears that all three Cinemarks in my town are offering it, which is odd, as they only offered the Avengers marathon at one theater. It did sell out so maybe they are pushing more on DK. But 6 movies for $20 is a lot more attractive than 3 movies for $25-30, when we normally go to matinees and see movies for $6.50. We would actually be paying more per movie for the marathon than seeing three first-run films. We'll probably still go because we are movie-holics. But I don't think they are going to sell out three theaters on this.

this is also @ Regal and AMC theaters.
My Local Regal is having it(for $25), and they didn't have the marvel marathon, I had to drive 100mi ea. way to Columbus, OH (@ an AMC) for that.

did anyone see mention if these are in 3d or not? and if so, if i watch with my Iron man 3d glasses do i open up a tear into an alternate Amalgam Comics universe?

and as for the refill question: my experience is limited to AMC w/ the marvel marathon, but they were really relaxed on the normal theater food rules for us marathoners. we had special passes on lanyards, we could come and go as we pleased, openly bring in outside food/bev. I bought a Large corn, @ large drink combo at the beginning, and got free refills for all 6 flicks... of course, YMMV

the marvel marathon was $40 @ AMC, but the last 3(Thor, Cap., & Avengers) were in 3D not sure if the cinemark theaters were or not.

looks like AMC's Dark night marathon is $25 , of $40 in IMAX

@earlyre: At the Cinemark where I attended the marvel marathon, those movies that were available in 3D were shown in 3D, don't recall which but I think it was the last 3. I avoid 3D as it tends to give me a headache so i was worried about 7 hours of 3D, but I leaned back and rested the glasses on my forehead with them barely touching the bridge of my nose and I didn't get a headache. I guess the pressure on my nose (which has been broken a couple of times) is what gives me the headache. Around here, you just don't get freebies at the theater,. Concessions are how they make payroll. No AMCs anywhere near here. The closest one is 435 miles away.
