Just in time for those family holiday get togethers.

Would have been great for my son's TF2 Scout costume. A little late, though.

I bought the black one a couple weeks ago. It is very heavy and seems like it would do the job if you needed some protection. The only problem is that when its extended the smallest piece at the end sticks really hard to the next piece and it won't retract without slamming it in to concrete. I put some WD40 on it and it got a little better but still doesn't want to close properly.

@mdillard9: Holy crap man that is what it is suppose to do. If you ever actually hit anyone with it that friction lock is the only thing keeping it from retracting on itself. That is the whole point of it. You are suppose to slam it against something hard (like the floor) to retract it. You have ruined it by putting the wd40 on it.

@jendenscott: I understand that it is supposed to lock but I guess I didn't make my point very clear. It does lock. It locks way too securely so that there is no way possible to retract it. It's not as if it collapses on itself now when it is extended. It just takes slightly less force then the monumental slam it took to come close to closing it before.

What does the law say about carrying these? It's essentially no different than carrying around a billy club, except that these are more deadly than a billy club.

In most states, they are against the law to carry. They are quit deadly. With one good whack in the head, they will fall dead.

Appropriate to list right next to a Walking Dead listing

onegrumpy guy is correct- these are often illegal to own.

These are perfectly legal, come in a variety of colors/styles and require no WD-40. YMMV

@onegrumpyguy: Legality varies from state to state but generally illegal because it's concealable and deadly. The term "expandable baton" usually falls under billy club, sap, blackjack, etc so if your state law doesn't specifically state "expandable baton," it may still be illegal.

@mickster1245: Maybe legal to carry around but not a lot of weight to inflict damage, will probably break, and will probably get you arrested after a fight because it's then used as a billy club,
