huh? no comments on this yet? am i really the first person to say something? maybe because there is nothing to say except ftn, this deal sucks.
still not worth it
Apple has invited press to a March 7 conference, at which the company is expected to announce the next-generation iPad. I'm betting you'll be able to find even more deals on these when the iPad 3 is announced in a few days.
I got one at this price when it was on woot a few weeks ago, and I couldn't be happier. The resolution is awesome, it is fast as far as web browsing and playing games go. My kids love it. At this price & with the ability to get applecare on top of it, it's so worth it.
compared to recert. 32 gb w 3g is $499 on apple.com

First Gen 64GB wi-fi only refurb $499 at Apple store online. I purchased from Woot during last woot off for my brother-in-law and it is in pristine condition. No way to tell it from new. Plus Apple Refurb gets you full year warranty plus Apple Care eligible. Yeah, New iPads next week. But they are going to be 800+ for similarly configured machine. The first gen is still pretty snappy and will suit my brother in laws needs fine.
@farmerdan: Bought it for your brother in law?
Will you please marry my sister?
Sorry, but you'd be a fool to buy this now. Wait until the iPad 3 is released and check Apple's website for refurb deals. I can guarantee you they will be lower than this. Plus, do you REALLY need the 64 gb? If not, use the money towards getting the iPad 3. It'll hold its value better, be thinner, lighter, more powerful, better cameras, higher resolution, etc.
@kirkhilles: It will hold its value better until the iPad4 comes out, then it will go down like everything else.
@brutherford: Uhh... you can get an iPad 2 16 GB for $349 now. Sorry, but this is not a good deal.
