This doesn't strike me as that good a deal, unless prices have gone up quite a bit from last Christmas. Target had them then for $12.99.

@boxjock: If you can find this combo for cheaper, please enlighten us as to it's whereabouts rather telling everyone how you found it cheaper two months ago. I'm not saying it wasn't cheaper in the past, but this is NOW and a great deal for these two knives. I checked target's website and did not even see this set. Closest I found was a tinker with a knife sharpener for $17.99 + sales tax + plus shipping but does not include the classic knife.

This is a great deal for two knives. One is a full size swiss army knife and the classic is a great addition to any keychain.

Good day sir.

@jdawg1983: 2 days ago, Target sold a slightly better knife than the Tinkerer (not sure the exact model) for $13 with free shipping.

But, that deal was dead in a few hours, so it's in the past and doesn't devalue this deal at all. Had I not been eyeing a brand new Leatherman, i'd be in on this since I missed the Target deal.

It's a great deal, but I got essentially the same deal from amazon.com (Same site) in Aug 2009.

I've carried a Tinker for years. Since I was 19, actually.

Not the same Tinker, mind you. I've lost (or had stolen/confiscated by the TSA) plenty, but it's just a great knife.

Here's a tip: The toothpick? In a pinch, and if you're careful, you can use it as a screwdriver.

Great price, great knife, great deal.

The classic knife has the BEST tweezers I've ever used. I would pay $15 just for those! No other tweezers can grab a splinter the way those tiny things can. This is a great deal...if I needed them.

Victorinox doesn't exactly make the best Swiss Army knife. Wenger makes the higher quality SA knives that I've seen for roughly the same price point. Of course, that is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt I guess.

EDIT: apparently Victorinox bought Wenger a couple years back so now it's all the same company. That kind of sucks. :\

When combined with Amazon Prime this is a solid deal. Amazon seems to post a Victorinox deal in the $15-$20 range every other month. Always good to keep an eye out for this deal and post it when it pops up. Thanks.

i can't seem to order the knife without paying for the shipping and handling. i thought it had free shipping.

@noseman68: perhaps you should read my description again ;)

"free super saver shipping on orders $25 or more"

or free shipping for members of amazon's "prime" service

Victorinox honors unconditional lifetime warranties on all of their knives. No sales receipts necessary and fully transferable (at least last time I checked). I bought a bunch of cheap keychain knives for my family one year as stocking stuffers and the side fell off of mine a month later, losing the tweezers. Even though it was a used knife I had purchased on ebay, I received either a new or fixed knife a couple months after I mailed it in. Besides the fact that I love these knives and have gotten tons of use out of them, they also last forever as long as you don't lose them.

these knives are great, i've had mine forever and it's just as good now as it was when i bought it. they definitely last forever.
