i would maybe be tempted if i saw how it was packaged. i might have bought this as a gift for my dad if it was in a nice gift box or something.

@kromo: If this had been posted a week ago, I would totally have bought this for my brother-in-law -- too bad :( I want it, but have no use for a sheath knife

Very tempting indeed, but as others stated, I don't need more knives, it's a bit ridiculous with all the flatware I currently have.

Sog's a good brand, I prefer Leatherman for my multitools, but Sog's tools stand test fairly well.

I like SOG but this is kind of a meh deal. They gave away the keychain knife and it's tiny to the point of barely useful and would only make you forget about them when you're going through security. The multi-tool looks small, too, and is $14 on Amazon. I don't know much about the Swedge - it looks interesting but also like something a Klingon would use, too, and maybe the only thing of value.

Compared to Amazon, it's a good deal but I've seen Swedge deals on woot before so it's possible they'll be back.

Well, the Swedge goes for about $65 minimum so you could think of it as getting a sheath knife with a couple of free gifts and a hat...
...but SOG doesn't show the Swedge in its current catalog. I gotta wonder if there's a reason for that.

SOG is still for posers and angsty tweens.

Who cares about the knives? What a sweet hat!

I have the Flash I and the Micron (included in this deal), and my girlfriend has the Flash II (almost the same size as the Micron). We love our knives and haven't had any issues. My brother has several as well, and uses them on searches (S&R) in wooded/brushy areas and prefers them to other brands as well.

Only non-SOG I'd consider getting right now is the Gerber LMF II, but that's because it has a plexiglass punch on the end of the hilt which has been proven to break a car window in one hit and a windshield in about 5.

I did woot a Swedge II previously; it's scary sharp. Not sure I can resist this set. They do make blades that are easy to maintain and sharpen, also durable, for a good price. Better blades would cost considerably more.

I received my package today, and the Swedge knife is missing. I'm pissed.

Same here, @craigmar; It looks like the Swedge I was shipped separately from the rest of the gift pack. I emailed service@woot and they gave me the tracking number on the shipment. It is another couple of days wait, but don't panic, it is on its way.

Sweet! I ordered one gift set, but they put two Swedge I's in the late shipment (see above). I wonder how @craigmar made out? Have you gotten the Swedge yet?

You betcha, Woot came thru with flying colors. Thanks!
