How does this thing actually work? I want one, or the tardis even more but I have no idea how it's supposed to know when my phone gets a call so I don't know if it would work or not.. Does it plug into my phone? Does it connect to it via bluetooth?

@cpnstumpy: the charm is actually an RF receiver and when it is near phones on the right frequency band it will light up and spin. The batteries on the TARDIS charm are replaceable

comes with a great roaming plan.

I've got a Cyberman version of it which is really cool, but unless my iPhone is a couple of inches away from it, it doesn't pick it up when the 'phone rings :-( and no, I'm not holding the 'phone in a "death grip" ;-)

I have the Tardis version on an LG enV 3 and it seems to work mostly with texts. I've only gotten it to do it with a phone call a couple times with the right positioning. But it really does work for me on Verizon. It will pick up a ton of other random signals throughout the day too. The battery tends to last maybe 2 months at max for me as well. It's still awesome even without the spinning and lighting up though.

It also goes off right before traffic lights change. Both of mine stopped spinning, but still light up (and one goes off if I thump it).
