Bummer! I bought the comparable Casio on Friday for $137.
Using 'comparable' and 'Casio' in the same sentence seems like an oxymoron.
$139 with free prime shipping on Amazon. Decent reviews for a HDD (they all seem to get lower ratings that other types of electronic items). ~3.5 out of 5 stars.

@pleepleus: Sorry, I meant "Canvio" not "Casio", Canvio is by Toshiba.
Comparable? I didn't know Western Digital made musical keyboards and cheap watches? ;-)
Why, oh why, doesn't this have an ethernet port?!?! Wanting a NAS drive.
2-year limited warranty...
Running two 2TB WD externals and a 6TB WD external "Cloud" drive right now, never had so much as a single glitch from any of them. 2TBs have run non-stop for over a year, 6TB for the last 7 months, all have survived multiple "power blips" so common in my area - could not recommend these any more highly.
I bought this last time it came up here (a month ago?) and it's fine so far though I do hear some clicking from it. Should I be worried?
This also makes the cheapest price for an internal hard drive. So buy one, take it out of the enclosure, and you have a brand new internal hard drive.
And then you can put your old hard drive into the enclosure and still have an external hard drive out of the deal.
USB 3, right. ~ 200 MB/sec throughput? No? WHY NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!
friend and I had these and they stopped working with windows7 computers. I sent it in, they sent me another, again didn't work right. The enclosure has some hardware 'security' module for the encryption/password.
So removed it, bought a cheapo usb/esata enclosure, and it's worked fine since, even in extreme Afghani dust for a year.
@pleepleus: I did not understand! Why oxymoron! Casio with same/similar specs!
@omnichad: Question is, how good is the drive? I can't speak for this but 2.5" externals routinely have capacities larger than any internal drive currently on the market which would suggest that someone's cutting corners.
@bogus: It's because the biggest 2.5 externals use the thicker 12.5-13.5mm drives that allow room for an additional platter. But, these don't fit in the 9.5mm slots in most laptops.
@bogus: Where did you see 2.5"? This drive is 3.5" just like a regular desktop HDD.
@birniei: Nice, but sold out, and the 2TB version is still $170+.
