Tempting, but I'll stick with the Xbox.

Hahaha FAIL! ^^^^^^

Xbox is for little kids.

Is this backwards compatible?

vote-for2vote-against

No, This one is not backwards compatible. The MGS4 edition is though.

Higher price, but if you want BC might be worth it to some people.

vote-for2vote-against

@rookie3001: You do not want the backwards compatible one, there were all sorts of problems with that model, which is why it is no more...

vote-for3vote-against

PS3 is so very, very wicked awesome.

vote-for12vote-against

@bruschiontap: Why be such a fanboy? There are pros and cons for both systems. I really enjoy my Xbox and find little need to get a PS3 at this time, but would love to get a "NEW" one for a decent price

vote-for1vote-against

This isn't a bundle. False advertising.

vote-for6vote-against

Definitely sticking to my xbox, especially with the new kinect out - beats the playstation move by far!

vote-for2vote-against

plays blu-ray RIGHT???? why does the OTHER ps3 woot specify this? I thought they all did?
cant beat this price if you need a player....I heard the ps3 is one of the best blu-ray players out there...

vote-for2vote-against

All ps3 consoles play blu rays.

Fanboys always crack me up! We have 3 Xbox, 3 PS3, and 2 Wii consoles in our home. There are advantages and disadvantages to all of them.

For multiplayer, Xbox Live is clearly superior. For PQ/SQ and BD playback, the PS3 reign supreme. For family time, nothing beats the Wii.

The only thing that NOBODY is interested in at our house is the Kinect. That thing is just plain silly for anyone over the age of 3. :D

vote-for2vote-against

Anyone notice the $33 shipping?! I know the console is cheaper and all but you are just getting a refurb system with the estentials! DOES NOT INCLUDE ANY GAMES WHAT SO EVER.

vote-for2vote-against

If you are buying this or the other one that was posted for backward compatibility for PS2, don't. The models CECHB01 (60GB) and CECHA01 (20GB) are the only 2 PS3s made with hardware based compatibility. Anything else has software based compatibility which is glitchy at best. I own the 60gb model and have purchased many PS2 games for my son to play on it. It is great. They can be had on Ebay for a reasonable cost.

@spyder69696969: I agree with everything said here. Especially about the Kinect. It loses it's novelty really quickly. It's Microsoft's attempt at the family genre and it works, to an extent. For anyone else, it's just a piece of hardware they can use to make pretty pictures on their computer with the right software and drivers.

vote-for2vote-against

The kinect is only good for when you are so drunk you can no longer use a controller.

vote-for2vote-against

Actually at least as far as exercising goes, the Kinect is fairly adequate. EA Sports Active 2 is kicking my butt. Glitchy here and there, but all things considered it's darn effective. So for that, my Kinect is getting use.

vote-for1vote-against

@dmmutti: No, the fully backwards compatible PS3 doesn't exist anymore because of cost. People whined and moaned about how expensive the PS3 was (and really, it was crazy expensive), so Sony did their thing to cut costs.

Also, @the XBox fanboys trashing the PS3 for being refurbed and such...I have one set of letters for you: RROD.

vote-for1vote-against

@venzam: That seller says the blu ray is not working consistently-it's about to tank, no blu ray, no ps3 games. Unless someone is willing to try their hand at fixing the drive, they should avoid this.

vote-for2vote-against

We own both PS3 and Xbox and also have both the Move and Kinect for each. We've found the Move to be more accurate and responsive than the Kinect. No fanboy here, we've owned the Xbox much longer than the PS3 and overall enjoy the Xbox games more. However, our primary mode of entertainment in our home is the streaming of hidef movies from our PC. And in this regard the PS3 is far superior. The Xbox's GUI is clunky with less control options where the PS3 has more options and has a snappy response. We also own a WDTV Live HD box for streaming content - the PS3 beats it as well.

vote-for2vote-against

@bruschiontap: Did you squirt milk out of your nose while showing your fanboy skills?

vote-for3vote-against

Wow...opiniated posters..what is this? Did someone install android on it or is Apple going to buy it? The only thing that brings haters/fanboys out in numbers...

...I have both. Both have their advantages. However...

1) PS3 security (software based) has been hacked to a certain degree. They are games that are UNPLAYABLE now because of it (MW2). No easy fix since there is no actual hardware check happening. Jury's still out if the bootloader security update is going to work or not. Supposedly the 'security fix' was cracked in 24 hours...all I know is I still can't play MW2 online.

2) LG just got ALL PS3's impounded in Europe and an embargo for 10 days on all sales due to patent infringement. This was in retaliation to Sony suing them for patent infringement on their new cell phones.

No fanboy...but PS3's future is not looking good right now. Just read up on these items...they're all over the news.

vote-for1vote-against

Pardon my ignorance, but does the PS3 play 3D disks?

vote-for1vote-against

I just bought a sony BPD-S570 if not I'd get one of these. Their gaming servers are horrible, but then again what can you expect for free online gaming. The blu-ray player on it is still pretty descent.

vote-for1vote-against

@spyder69696969: Better multiplayer, the only way it would be better was if it was FREE. Playstaion is FREE.

vote-for1vote-against

meh. Picked up a PS3 slim (160gb) last march for $165 on craigslist. It looked brand new.
