Just a heads up.
Packaging: Brown Box.

That might means it is not ASUS refub product.
I purchased one ASUS laptop from them and it was refurb. But when I received it, it was used for sure. I contacted ASUS and they won't honor the 90 day warranty either.

I tried to return the laptop but 1saleaday refused. Finally filed CC chargeback and get my money back

A couple thoughts -
>>Well a refurb means it is used...and I admit, I have gotten used to refurbs looking brand new; thanks for the reminder that they legit. can actually look used.
>>Also, a good reminder that we need to understand the warranty and seller reputation prior to purchasing.

Question - is there an assessment site that rates the quality of these types of deal sites?

Assuming you get this in perfect condition, this is still not that great of a deal. It says the list price is $199.99, but this is a discontinued model. Also, that $199.99 was for the tablet in new condition. The 16 GB version is now selling for $199.99. Considering the dishonest listing, do you really want to take the risk? I'd stay away.

No SD card storage and only 8 gb. You can get around this using an OTG cable http://www.amazon.com/IVSO-Nexus-Tablet-Micro-Cable/dp/B00932N46S and an app called Nexus media importer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.homeysoft.nexususb.importer&hl=en

Other than that the Nexus 7 is buttery smooth with a great screen and very good response.

Guys, 1 sale a day is one of the best of all the daily deal sites and besides the rare delay on items shipping (because shipping is free), they are amazing. What did you want them to put for the list price, this tablet has never been offered for anything other than $199 and they are not just gonna make a list price up based on an estimate.
$140 to get a fully functioning, fully supported android tablet seems like a pretty great deal to me, 8 GB or not. Also, refurbs are used and then restored to a tested, fully functioning state, cosmetic damage is not generally part of the deal.

A lot of people who are really ignorant of shopping. Refurb means it most likely has been used. If 1saleaday says "factory refurb" then it has been refurbished by the manufacturer, if they just say "refurb", it could be done by a third party. Of course Asus isn't going to give you a warranty replacement simply because you bought a refurb and GASP! you discovered it had been used previously. Are you serious? I've bought many items from 1saleaday and have not been disappointed. And their customer service has been great.

@taimeili: Just because it's in a brown box does not necessarily mean that it is not refurbished by Asus. The listing says "factory refurbished" that usually implies that it is refurbed by the manufacturer. In fact these might not even be "refurbed" since they are a discontinued model- it might be some that were sent back that they are trying to liquidate. In your case, a laptop has more potential for failure vs a tablet. A tablet will show within a week of moderate use, generally, if there is something not right with it- (a lot less moving parts). Whereas a laptop is a big conglomeration of many parts that have potential to fail separately. I have bought from 1saleaday with no issues or complaints- at the same time caveat emptor . At this price it's worth the gamble because 1) Nexus 7 is the best small form tablet bar none 2) even though it's only 8gb, you can get around that with an OTG adapter and an app (see my other post)

I bought the 16GB version from them when it was 179.99, came in pristine condition, if you look at a new one it was like 235.00 including tax and shipment from google, only thing was the 21 days it took to arrive, but after two months it is still rocking.
8GB are ok if you have a DLNA server and use it only for games and light browsing.
Just remember: 21 days

@masterface7: Please define your idea of "one of the best deal of the day sites". I ordered an item from them on 2/28 and it didn't ship until 3/15. And this isn't a rarity. Every item I have bought from them has taken weeks to ship. Check the complaints on this site. 99% of the complaints are about processing and shipping. Also, shipping isn't free on every item and why should it matter if it is. USPS, UPS, FedEx will all pick up daily from a business.
Their prices are good, thats why I order from them but until they improve their processing they are hardly "one of the best".

@fuzi719 and @masterface7: I agree with you guys.

I've made several purchases from 1saleaday.com. Their customer service is top-notch. One time an item I received did not have one of the features that was advertised, and when I told them about it, they gave me a partial refund.

I am in agreement about 1saleaday being very good. For HEFTY savings, I am willing to wait. If I wanted to pay more and get it quickly, that is simple enough. It is called retail.

@fuzi719:

I asked ASUS if the laptop came with warrnaty, they said this one never been refub and it was sold as band new over a year ago.

Watch you month

I've also bought several items from them and their sister site bensoutlet.com The only gripe I've ever had was time. They let you know up front that it takes a while to get your orders, but the service, prices, and product have all been top notch.

It states "Factory Refurbished" so the assumption would be that the 90-day warranty is covered by ASUS, NOT 1saleaday, although that isn't stated. I've purchased many items from 1saleaday and haven't had any problems, other than occasionally slower shipping. The one time I did have an issue was with a refurbished laptop, but they had me contact ASUS directly & the warranty was honored & a replacement was sent directly from ASUS.

@masterface7: Because nobody anywhere is selling these, even new, for $199.99. To pretend that price point is "Full Price" is idiotic. This just plain is not a "great" price.

I recently sold my Nexus 7 on e-Bay that is the same model as this. I purchased mine on launch (pre-order from Google Play store). I sold my tablet on E-bay for significantly more (around $170). This is a good deal. And unlike the one I sold, you get a 90 day warranty.

I don't see a lower price for a working Nexus 7 anywhere else on the web. This is a GREAT deal. For those who say it is not, link to a place with a lower price.

@nemosomen: What tablet that has these specs can you get for that price? The closest thing would be if you went with a Chinese brand like Ainol venus novo-7 which I also own. Even though spec-wise these 2 tablets are very similar, the Nexus 7 is much smoother and more responsive. Dude I price tablets all the time- this is a deal.
