Titleist Pro V1/V1x Golf Ball–Dozen for $12.99 + $5.00 shipping
Dear Neighbors, be advised: your yards are now part of my golf course.
I will feel a lot better seeing these fly into the woods than if I paid the $50/dozen price tag at the store!

I absolutely did not see anything in the listing that said these were going to be used balls. The receipt that I printed definitely does not say they are used. Was it in the original description and I just missed it? The issue here isn't whether the balls are good or not but whether the seller was honest.
The original description did say used, but also said reconditioned mint. If these are supposed to be mint, I'd hate to see what the lesser graded balls look like. Almost every ball in my three boxes has some sort of major defect like a gash, scuffs, or dirt/hair that stuck to the ball during refinishing. These are not cosmetic flaws, but flaws that will affect trajectory and distance in a significant way. I knew they were cheap, but if I knew they were going to this bad I wouldn't have ordered.
Got my balls - 12 Pro VI balls looked fine but of the 24 Pro VIx, 7 had chipped covers and one had a crack so 8 were in no way mint - lesser grade but not fitting the offer. So, what is my recourse for returning/exchanging the "incorrect" product that was shipped contrary to description? I think I can send a dozen back to Woot but have to pay for shipping - which is not fair and costs more than the value of the balls - I can call GolfBallsOnly - I can call my credit card (am sure my CC will give me credit and push it back on Woot since merchants are at fault if merchandise wasn't delivered as advertised). However, since this is the first problem with my Woot orders, I am not sure what to do with this one - not a lot of money is at stake (and could give my son the balls) and so would usually overlook, but hate it when sellers pull one over on customers by including sub-par product when they know it is tough for customers to do anything. What are other dissatisfied buyers doing?
@ddg123: My inclination is to stop buying anything from this source. The seller runs the biggest long term risk when customers go away disappointed.
@ddg123: Seems like customer service has gone south since Woot was bought by Amazon. I remember back when Snapster(founder/CEO of woot Mark Rutledge) himself would read and respond to the forums to make things right. Woot should offer a refund and pay for return shipping since the balls are not as described.
@mooster47: Yes, a 33% error rate on the Pro V1x balls is pretty high and so I wouldn't buy golf balls again on Woot. Hard to know whether it was a simple error or whether as a regular business practice they figure that by including balls of varying degrees less than mint they can have 25%+ more balls to offer. The effective $3-4 loss on the 8 balls doesn't bother as much as the annoyance that the customer doesn't functionally have recourse with Woot or the provider of the product without incurring shipping costs which really means no recourse through normal customer service channels. At least with my other Woots the products have been delivered as advertised so I cannot complain about the overall experience. I tend to avoid "refurbished" products but bit here - at least it is a cheap reminder of the potential issues with refurbished offers.
@cynical: Sounds like you really got a bad batch if most of the balls aren't mint. At least I got a solid dozen that was perfect and then a handful of off balls in each of the other two dozen. Obviously it is a tough customer service problem to deal with with cheap products given that in some instances the cost of return shipping and processing of returns exceeds the sale price.
Our balls arrived today and we are extremely disappointed. The condition is far from "mint". These look like old golf balls that were just painted over, and they are obviously not refinished or refurbished. Bad Woot.
My balls come in the mail today, and all these comments have me worried. Im no scratch golfer, and don't mind a small scuff on a ball, but if they are as bad as others describe, I might have 2 dozen new range balls for my back yard. :-\
A follow up:
I emailed Woot customer service and requested a full refund, including shipping. I haven't heard back yet, but it's probably too soon.
Upon further inspection my husband is not convinced that all the balls are even ProV's. Some have a "seam" (flat area around the circumference of the ball with no dimples). That's a telltale sign of a cheaper golf ball.
Hopefully Woot will do the right thing as a vendor. Right?
@jenfloyd08: I'm not showing a email received from you. Did you send it to service@woot.com? Or did you send it from a different email address than the one you have on file with us?
@blaculadave: and @all other Wooters. I just got mine in the mail today. I have bought refurbished ProV1's before and these are by far the worst. It looks like a cheap cover has been put around the ball, and then painted. I am really worried about playing with them, probably fall apart. Woot... we need a refund.
@blaculadave: I emailed "service@woot.com" on Tue, Feb 14, 2012 at 3:40 PM PST from the address associated with my Woot account. I just forwarded my Woot Order Confirmation email (so it should contain all needed details) with a message requesting return/refund. Thanks for your assistance.
@jenfloyd08: Thank you. I show the forwarded email in our records, so we'll go ahead and get that taken care of ASAP.
@eoinkenny345: If you could, please send us an email to service@woot.com if you have not already done so.
@ddg123: I suggest you email service@woot.com if you haven't already. They've already sent me an RMA label. I'll be watching my statement to make sure the refund amount matches the price on the receipt once it's processed. Good luck.
I examined some of these golf balls to REAL Titleist Pro V1's and the dimple patterns weren't even close and had a totally different feel to them when I took out the putter. It's one thing to sell something in a lower condition than advertised but to sell me some FAKE golf balls....lame!
@nemunaitis: I show that we did receve an email from you overnight, and someone should be responding back shortly.
@blaculadave: I completely agree with everyone else that these balls are junk. I'm sending an email as well and we all appreciate you coming in here to help make us happy!
I requested for a return to woot.com and received answer that I need to contact the manufacturer. Anybody has any experience with that?
@chanoh: I'm being given the runaround on the return as well
I'm very disappointed. It's pretty clear that these are not PROV1's. I'm going to request a return
@blaculadave: Could you please follow up on the email that I sent to service@woot.com? I sent it last week and have yet to receive a response.
I got suckered in for 3 dozen. I am an avid golfer, and figured that these can't be worse than the pro v's I find in the woods. Boy was I wrong. They look like they were dropped in a can of white paint and hit a couple times then boxed and shipped. A sure disappointment for my first Woot. I've played with the balls and they get cut terribnly after 1 or 2 hits on the golf ball. Should have spent my $45 on the real thing.
I'd appreciate some kind of response. What happened to the industry standard automated within 24, human response within 48? Even a 'get lost' would be better than nothing. Is this how you treat one of your oldest customers?
Please don't make me have to resort to a chargeback through my cc company.
It's been a week since I submitted the return request. I'm not able to use these balls at all. 3 dozens are sitting beside of trash can. Please response!!!!
@cynical: My fault woot, I should've checked my spam folder sooner - rookie mistake.
If your still waiting to hear back, check your spam folder.
UPDATE - I checked my credit card activity and a FULL refund (including the $5 S&H) was posted over the weekend. Thanks for doing the right thing, Woot!
@chanoh: Yes, I did. I can only assume it might be what you expressed for the reason for your return? or maybe the person who responded to your request? I would try again. Perhaps blaculadave here can help?
Thanks Woot. I got the refund.
