drawers aren't ballbearing, but who would care for this price. Not a bad deal. I've owned a sears bottom and tops set for about 14 years. It has been dinged up a little but still works fine. The big drawers on the bottom are good for larger stuff.

I don't buy their mats, some elcheapo shelf liner works just as well for the drawers.

About $70 shipping, but they do offer in-store pickup for free.

For 109.99 you can get both the bottom and middle storage boxes. These are not the best tool boxes out there, but they are perfect for the home garage. Free shipping if you pick it up at the store and you get an extra 10% off if you have a sears card.

"Some assembly required" gives me hope I can take it home in pieces in the trunk of my car, rather than lifting it up onto the roofbars (which is about the same height as a pickup bed only with more space for long stuff...)

Can anyone tell me about how unwieldy it is from the store?

@rfsmit: I had a similar (though larger) chest delivered about 10 years ago... it came in a lightweight open crate. The "assembly" amounted to bolting on the handle and the casters. I can't imagine that it would be much different for this thing. These chests are all welded together.

If your local Sears stores don't have it in stock and say it will be shipped to the store in several days, DON'T BOTHER, it will never come. I tried this and waited months for nothing and then had to fight to get my money back.

My dad had something like this since before I was born (26 years atleast) and since then he decided to upgrade. As such, I opted to have this old one in my garage now. Still works great, however this was the craftsmanship of nearly 30 years ago, whether it has gotten better or worse is up for discussion, however if need be, I would get another one.

@luisibarra81: If they have that price for another month or so, I may ask for that for Christmas!

Make sure you read the description. This amounts to the old homeowner line that was pure JUNK! external locking system, relatively small drawers, and poor glides. (IE) easy to overload and bend the "cabinet" key missing items here are the "I" frame construction and "V" ribbed back. If the wife needs more spatula storage have at it... If you're looking to store more than a few screwdrivers and pliers? pony up for a better unit. With tools buy quality once two cents

I just bought the combo with the bottom and center storage boxes for 107 and change with the discounts. I don't plan on over loading the drawers so it should be perfect for what I need it for.
