i have one exactly like the ones pictured, they give off a decent amount of light but they do eat up the batteries for being led's.

Handy little item here for working around the house, or running in the dark. I have one and use it a lot for jobs around the house where a flashlight just doesn't work.

Careful with 13 deals though, they will kill you with emails and very difficult to unsubscribe.

@bmrbill: I have never received an email from them and have made over a dozen purchases there.

These are practically worthless as headlights go. buy an entry level 30 lumen petzl which is 10x better than the amount of light that these give off.

I have a couple of these exact ones as well. Although handy and great to have around, "super bright" is not the work I would use.

Do you have to have Edward Scissorhands hair to wear them?

vote-for2vote-against

Wait, is it unlimited shipping (as the ad states) or limited shipping (as the website states)?

got this same headlamp for my dad from another site, it was junk... battery door didn't seal properly which led to light flickering and eventual failure.

Eats batteries, poor construction and isn't very bright at all. Good for kids at $5 but I'd look elsewhere if you need a good headlamp.

Bought these...turned them on once. Total junk

@conanthelibrarian
I just recently stopped receiving them. My inbox was full of them no matter how many times I tried to unsubscribe, seriously.

Maybe it was just a glitch in their system.

I'm not bad-mouthing them, just don't like to get spammed.

Interesting that everybody with negative experience with these is getting down voted. Oh well.

This is a throw away product. I own a couple of them. Others here have posted the same. The construction is poor, and they don't put out much light by today's standards. There's nothing wrong with throw away products, but I just don't think they make sense as flash lights. Excellent flash lights, including head lamps, can be found for relatively cheap. Once you buy a few of them, they'll last you for years and years. I just can't see the reasoning to be un-dependable lights like these that need replaced quickly. You spend more money in the long run, and you get poor performance and reliability forever that way.

I bought one for everyone in my family about a year ago. They are all broken now. I actually cannibalized the head strap for one the other day to mount a go pro though.

@pitviper33: it's enough for seeing things arm length away which is what this made for.

@bmrbill: I am glad you responded to let everyone know your experience. That's why I like coming on here, you can read positive and negative experiences with each vendor. I really like 13deals.com and no I do not work for them, just a fan ;). I haven't purchased from them in about 6 weeks but typically make at least one purchase a month.

my apologies if I came off defensive.

I've had several of these, and the issue is that the plastic threading will eventually wear away and wont give a good connection to the batteries anymore. These are okay for the price if you don't expect these to last long, just make sure you have enough rechargeable AAA batteries.

I got one of these when I saw them on here several months ago.

The material is much cheaper than it looks in the picture. The first time I tried to put batteries in, something in the twist off cheap plastic battery cap came off and the cap would never go back on. I was never able to actually get the thing to work.

Not saying all are like this, but this is my experience.

@dertintenfisch: The threading broke on mine the first time I used it.

@erikull: This is my exact experience as well
