It's too bad that there's no DLC included. Good deal if you've never played either of these games before, though.

Even without the DLC, it's what, 200 Bajillion hours of gaming combined? So probably not worth it for completionists who want to do everything, but worth it for those that want to sample or just want cheap, good action-RPGage.

In my opinion, the DLC for both of these games is worth the extra ten bucks you'd pay to get a used GOTY edition. Not to mention, at least if you're like me, purchasing these simultaneously would make me immediately want to dive into both, which would seriously kill the joy of diving into each of these individual worlds.

Anyway, missing DLC really seems like a bummer here, particularly for these two games which had excellent DLC.

@segafanalways: True GOTY editions have the DLC on disc, no codes required.

I own and recommend them both.

@segafanalways: It depends on how the specific GOTY edition handles the DLC. With both Oblivion and Fallout 3 GOTY editions, you simply install the DLC from the included 2nd disc, no activation codes needed. So getting used GOTY copies for these titles isn't an issue.

You are correct that other GOTY editions may use activation/download codes for the DLC, so it's something to check for before buying used.

@starmandeluxe: The problem with getting used GOTY editions is that most of the time the codes to activate the DLC are used so it makes the DLC useless. Unless you get it from Gamefly

@segafanalways: good point, it is always worth investigating the format of GOTY editions before buying used. I was basing this comment off both of these, which did come with DLC discs (which I very much appreciate, since my xbox downloads slow as molasses).

I just honestly can't imagine the FO3 experience without the DLC...point lookout and the pitt in particular are just so robust and interesting.

what? No horse armor? Two of my favorite games. Might just get them to play them again.
