This was one of my favorite games and well-worth $8. The theme-song (sung by the evil computer, GLadOS) at the end of the game is one of the best game-endings of all time.

However, if you're a gamer you might be better off buying the Orange Box which includes this and four other great games. You can usually find it for around $20 or less.

@kitlemmonds: Does the Orange Box for Xbox have the Still Alive version of Portal?

vote-for2vote-against

No, the Orange Box version lacks some of the extras on the Still Alive version.

What is the Still Alive version?

@arevan: Thank you so much. By the way, what's this 'google' thing? Can I download it with my wifi's?

@viciousspike: You need the bigger GeeBees to use your wy fys.

WOOT WOOT! In for one

@kitlemmonds: I'd say if anyone considers himself/herself a gamer, he/she has already played Portal and is at least aware of Orange Box. Of course a real gamer would be playing this on PC...

Anyway, I'm just kidding. That's great info for anyone who doesn't know, and everyone should experience Portal. The sequel's due out soon.

@drchops: A real game would already own the Orange box and download this for the extra levels.

vote-for1vote-against

I'm tempted. I already have played the hell out of the Orange Box version. I have 400 MSP already on my account but don't want to spend any money...

a real gamer makes their parents purchase over-priced games for them. since that is not me, i'm in for one!

@viciousspike: A real gamer plays on an NES.

@segafanalways: This has extra levels? How many?

vote-for2vote-against

@drchops: It has 14 new levels. Everything that I have read on it says there is no story connected to them but they are said to be fun levels anyways.

@mokel22: A real gammer uses a Magnavox Odyssey

A real gamer plays tic-tac-toe, in the dirt, using sticks.

@smorloc: as others have commented, no. The Orange Box was packaged before the still alive version was offered on xbox arcade. However, still alive does not contain any additional story-related levels (just some new challenges, achievements, and a port of a few levels from Portal: The Flash Version). See http://www.gamesetwatch.com/2008/07/portal_still_alive_explained_1.php for details.

I would not be terribly surprised if these additional levels were available in Portal 2, as Valve has a history of giving unexpected bonus material.
